Hoping to hit the water with my Dad and Garrett Tuesday. Graci out of town with my Mom. Geoffrey off to some camp for special needs kids. Erin working night 2 of 5 in a row right now. Ball games Mon and Wed. I am thinking Garrett would have a ball trying to reel in a bass like the one my Dad caught last weekend!

Mike killed it today. I was with him and he out fished me for sure. I'll let him tell the story. Crazy weather today.

P.S. Badger couldnt make it due to weather... That's the only thing that would have made the trip more bad ass.

First of all a BIG thank you goes out to Josh for hooking me up on an awesome trip. Thanks bro!
We met at a 7-11 and then drove to the launch to meet the guide. I think Nick, the guide, thought we were nuts for wanting to go out, but he agreed to go out. He and josh had full rain suits and I had swim trunks, a dry loc shirt and crocs. The trip out to calmer water was fuggin rough.
Nick had us throwing topwater plugs, his one and only plan to hopefully get us on fish. I would have never thought top water in those conditions, but when you have a pro you listen. Bam fish on right away!
We worked a long stretch of shore and were able to stay sheltered at times. The fish seemed to prefer the windy water. We had tons of hits and misses and plenty of hook ups. We also doubled up on reds at the end. Both the trout and reds were highly aggressive.
I pretty much felt like a wet sock and I hit the jacuzzi when I got back.
I prepared the fish for dinner and it was absolutely perfect. This is a trip that I won't soon forget. Oh and you were missed Dale!

Man, that was so awesome. I've never fished in weather that terrible. You're a real man braving those elements in shorts and a tshirt.

Here are some pics from yesterday evening. We had a great evening to get the kids out fishing. No giants, but they caught lots of bass. Thay also had fun trying to catch minnows with the dollar store butterfly nets they have.
