Ha! Will do! I am making it a personal goal to fish more this fall and winter. I love to deer and rabbit hunt, but good grief I get burnt out. So, it's my plan to fish this winter, something I've never done a lot of. I do crappie fish a little in the winter, but not nearly enough. For some reason the sauger thing has just caught my attention, and I want to give it a whirl. I'm a little over an hour from the Greenup dam, so I suspect that's where I'll try it out.

I always here of the guys hitting the dams for saugeyes and they all say they have good luck during the winter, but with beagles and too much deer stuff I don't need something else keeping away from the ole lady during the winter :smiley_clap: According to her there's only two seasons a year hunting and fishing :smiley_coolpeace:

I've heard the same thing. It's fortunate I've learned to not listen. :)

Oh I'm a little on the hard of hearing side myself :smiley_clap: Saturday was our 28th anniversary and I spent it on the boat in a bass tourney :smiley_clap: I did take her out too dinner after I got home :smiley_coolpeace:

That should be good enough for her...she must be a good woman to warrant a dinner! :) Congratulations on your anniversary!

Went back in search of crappie today. I found 'em. The most interesting thing of the morning was getting to see a couple of bald eagles, and osprey. Pretty cool to see them around fishing now, something I would have never imagined a few years back. The crappie were scattered all over the place early, and it made it hard to get 'em with an regularity. After the sun came up they seemed to move into cluster and were hanging in 13-15 feet. I couldn't find a fish either side of those numbers, but caught maybe 30 or so by staying at the right depth. It was an awful nice morning and I hated to leave. The first skier showed up a little after noon and I figured it was a sign to go.:)

Chad, I agree! I planned to squeeze in another trip this morning before a lunch time meeting, but I lost the drive to do it. I think I'll try to get out in the morning but may not. We are heading up to Chataqua this weekend to fish so I really need to start getting things together for that. It just doesn't make sense to me to skip a morning of fishing here to get ready to go fishing elsewhere...so maybe I will make it out tomorrow. A day without fishing is a wasted day!:)
Ric, at times it is a pretty lake. If you want to see it for yourself just let me know when. Your welcome on the SS Crappie anytime.

Fished Indian Lake this weekend. The Crappie and Saugeye were hot! We ended up with around 40 Crappie over the 9 inch minimum and 4 Saugeye with the biggest being close to 4lbs.

A pic of the basket from day one:

Dang! Nice work! With these warm temps, I'm tempted to drag the boat to the lake tomorrow. Unfortuantely, I have a lot on my plate right now and I am afraid I'm gonna have to take care of some things. Congratulations on a good day at the lake!

Nice gill! I plan to fish tomorrow. I have the boat all ready, and am looking forward to seeing what I can find. The legend Mullskinner reported that a friend of his got two 10lbers this week!

A new access road was put in for Fox lake at Mingo Sportsman. I haven't fished this lake since at least 1991. We took Kody out in the boat to see how it is nowadays. We only caught 4 (pap 1, Kody 1, me 2) but they were all nice ones. It was a good morning.
