Sounded like a great time Y'all had down in Florida guys! Thanks for sharing those pics. What kind of fish is that big grayish colored fish with the bright blue and Yeller markings in the first pic?

It's a queen triggerfish. Find them around reefs

Haha!! That's great Gern. I know the little girl in this house isn't hugging any fish, she'll hold 'em up for pics, but she said she'd only hug a fish "if it would hold still. They're always too wiggly" lol

Mason and I haven't fished Paint Creek much this year, which is funny because it's only 3 miles to the boat ramp from our house! So after messing around up at one of our hunting farms this afternoon we went fishing. We found crappies pretty quick, and caught a ton of them. I didn't want to keep any, but Mason made me. :) We kept 14 between 10 and 12 inches in length. Mason lost one at the boat that was probably 16. The lake level is way down. There is a shallow flat that is almost out of the water now, and when we headed back to the dock there were two deer out in ankle deep water feeding on lilly pads or something. The looked like they were walking on water in the middle of the lake from a distance. By the time I got my phone out they were running, but still it was pretty cool to see.

Brock, it amazes me how close you can get too deer from the water with the electric motor.... Down on the Ohio river you can get too a stones throw from them.... No fear coming from the water......

We were getting them on jigs. Caught some more this afternoon. Not quite as many as yesterday, but I didn't get on the lake until 1100 or so. Got into a bunch of white bass just before I came home too...big ones!

J, you are right about deer when you are on the water! You ever sauger fish on the river in the winter? I have not, but it's something I want to try this year.
