Got up early and took the boat out this am. Hasn’t seen the water since well before deer season opened so it was a nice change of pace. Wind semi-cooperated and so did some fish. Only caught a handful of smallmouth, biggest was 4.5lbs then went and beat up a couple dozen largemouth with the biggest around 3.5. Gotta get my shit together now and chase deer without antlers.

Too warm for me to mess with filling a couple more doe tags, and perfect wind to get out on Erie today. Had to bust through 1/4-1/2 mile of skim and chunk ice in the marina to get out on the lake. Biggest (picture) was a hair over 4lbs, all the others were sub 3.5lbs. Total around 20 fish? Not a bad day of soft water fishing considering it’s December 10th.

Got out for a few hours the other day on some big water with Eli. Fished the dirty water for largemouth, and went out to some deep, clean and still kinda ice covered deep water for smallmouth and stray eyes. Lost a 5+ smallie at the side of the boat, pissed I didn’t already have the net out. Felt good getting the boat out and playing with the new fish finder. Using these pics on FB and don’t wanna have a dead giveaway where we were at with the back ground 😂

FFS being used? How deep were they?
Yes sir. Bought it for ice fishing but moved it to the boat since, well the ice is gone lol. It didn’t really help a whole lot since all the fish besides a few pike were glued to the bottom. Found all of our smallmouth and eyes between 25 and 30 FOW. Yo-yo’ing lipless cranks in craw colors, and slow dragging/hopping tubes and 3.5” paddle tails worked the best. Water temp was 38°.
