I'm going to take my grandfather's first shotgun he ever bought out. It's an old pump action H&R he bought for $45 back in the day . It would tickle me pink to kill a doe with it. The shelf lifter and other parts are worn out it's best to be used as a single shot. I've had it to a couple different smiths and they both said unfixable , neither mentioned possibly making any parts so I've been watching GunBroker the past couple years. It's a 16 gauge , I want one to steal parts from but so far in three years I've only seen 2 and one was a 20 gauge and the other a 12 .
I'd check with D&D tactical he does a great job on old and newer firearms.

Was looking forward to this weekend so I could hunt ducks in the AM and deer in the PM with gun in hand, but been laid up with flu since midday Wednesday. Playing the morning by ear, but hope to be well enough by the afternoon to venture out. Good luck to all that make it out this weekend!

I think this is my plan. I'll see how motivated I feel in the morning
I just looked at one of these scrub bucks I have and chuckled. That same thought crossed my mind about completely fucking up that 6 points days when I was with you and @OhioWhiteTails 🤣. Tomorrow could be a bad day to be any deer I see. The hell with EHD. I grew up hunting NW Ohio in the 90s. Any deer I seen was a target and that was FUN!!!

Just got in from checking parking lots for ice. Could probably shower up and walk in at light. Not sure I physically have what it takes to do that. Maybe rest up and try an evening hunt. Haven't taken my temperature, but I suspect I'm still running a low grade fever. Or maybe I load up, drive over, lean against a barn, and see what happens the first half hour? Then back to bed. Lol

I'm tapping out. I need rest. This cough probably wouldn't help get close to any deer either. Talking accumulating snow late next week. I need to be healthy to work. Might try an evening hunt today if I feel up to it.

Sad thing here, I had a shooter on camera at 1124pm. I have a really good feeling where he would come back thru (if he returns the same direction). I just can't. Seems foolish.

Out of coffee! 0 chance of hunting in the morning without a thermos of coffee by my side. Have to delay this mornings hunt awhile.
