I hate reading these updates. HOW do people buy into his stuff? Don't stop posting though. Sooner or later the word gets around. I don't even live around there but I'd hate to hear of people getting caught up in his dubious ways. Poachers suck. He is glamorizing it. That is BS.

I think I may be sending Buckmasters an email. No point in contacting Toby, he undoubtedly knows and doesn't care. He scored Trevor's deer again this year that he killed in October before being handed down his sentence.
Agreed, they seem to know each other pretty well and chummy with each other on the FB posts I saw so I decided I wasn't wasting my time. I did contact a well know tracker out of Michigan that had his name used a couple of times by TJ dude though. He seemed pretty surprised and thanked me for letting him know.

Good, thanks for doing that. His connections run deep and people deserve to know who the kind of person they are interacting with. If you hang around shit long enough you start to smell like it.

A member sent me this this morning. I don't think he had a clue who the dog handler was.

Speaking of that dog...
I passed his number along to two friends last year. One was a very long drive for him. The other was relatively close. For both of those tracks, I believe he received about a grand. Both of those tracks resulted in lost deer. Both friends said that little mut never even sniffed the blood. One was tracked 900 yards, they followed blood visually and the hunter said the dog was not even aware there was blood on the ground. Same story with the next but they lost blood without going so far. I felt pretty bad about getting those guys in contact with a non-tracking mut and costing them a fortune. The second hunter just said “Oh well. He was an extra set of eyes and did bring a good light”. The other fella was on the hook for a much bigger chunk of change, but still paid the stupid fee because Trevor had driven a long way to get there- billable miles. I’m in no position to pass judgement on that matter, really, but if I was charging people to track deer, I’d have a dog that will track. Shoot, I feel bad when my hunting dogs have an off day and I take people for free on land that only I have access too. Lol

I don't think I could take any money if no deer was found. No matter how far I drove. Maybe a flat fee to start the track and when found get the check ready but only if found.
Or you would quit taking tracks. When I worked Hank it was disheartening. The calls would come in and people had no clue if they even hit the deer. Neck shots with archery gear. Was taken to properties which they assured me they had permission to hunt, later to find they were trespassing and taking me along with them. Just one bad situation after another. Made me think very poorly of many hunters out there. I never collected more than someone was willing to offer.

On Trevor's dog, in 2019 I shot a buck in Highland county, didn't see arrow hit, never saw deer fall. Out of caution and respect for the animal I called a tracking dog, only local one I knew was Trevor. I didn't know at the time the kind of person he was obviously. His poor little dog couldn't even walk through the 6ft high grass the deer ran through. He literally had to carry the dog while his brother and I followed the blood with a light. As it turns out the deer was double lunged and we walked pretty much straight too it, 120 yard track. But the dog didn't do dam thing besides chew the shit out of it when we walked up on him. $250. Easy money I'd say.

Yep. I didn't argue, was just glad to have found it. Chalked it up as a learning experience. Should have just pursed the track about 20 more yards and could have followed it blind. Ill only call a dog as absolute last resort from here on out, or if I know for a fact I made a really bad hit.

I would have told him to go fuck his little worthless dog. Probably in so many words.

I have no dog in this fight or any real experience. But from what I know, the dogs don't actually follow blood. They follow the scent from the individual deer.

Not saying the dog did it's job or not, just bringing up a known fact that I know. We don't need a new member coming along and side tracking this over a misused word. The cases listed seem to be that the dog didn't follow the track/blood.

Yeah it’s the heightened stress levels making the interdigital gland scents more extreme than usual. Should be pretty close to the blood but you’re right.

Point being, three people I know have paid for that dog. Two said without question that dog wasn’t looking for anything. Seth paid for him to be there but was not really used because the dog couldn’t go where the deer went Lol.
