If it makes you feel any better, I'm having issues with our Frigidaire. Water dispenses. Won't stop. Switch to ice. Keeps dispensing also. YouTube and Google fixes aren't cutting it. Messaged a local guy I know who has been repairing these 30 years. He has been helping diagnose a bit at a time. Frustrating. Every electric part is $200 or more. Sorta hate to guess which one it needs. Oh well. Such is life. We have first world problems happening. We will get it.

How old is it? If it has any age too it, just replace it.

Well…… Samsung refrigerator is getting relegated to a garage beer fridge. Ice maker finally gave up the ghost. The last service guy said the water tube is damaged and there’s nothing they can do. Over this POS and moving on…..

LG is replacing it. 🖕🏻Samsung..... let’s see how this one works……

Mine isnt doing the ice issue again thankfully, but it does go to crushed ice all on its own. I have to take out the ice bin to flip a switch inside to fix it.

Years ago, we had a fridgedaire do that. The kids would punch the button for crushed and it wouldn’t switch back and you had to remove the ice maker container and flip the lever. I got really good at doing it 😂

Screw Samsung. I inherited a two year old Samsung french door refrigerator from my mother. At age 3, last summer, the ice maker stopped working, water dispenser is working fine. I had it repaired (replaced the entire ice making unit) by a professional. He told me in no uncertain terms that this would happen again and encouraged me to not fix it and just buy another refrigerator. Since it did not cost me anything, I decided to fix it (just under $800 in total) I had to sign a waiver accepting that they will not warranty the work or the junk ice maker for this Samsung. Ice maker lasted about 4 months and we have been buying bagged ice since. I asked the technician, who did a good job, what he would buy today if he were in the market. He said without blinking a GE or Frigidaire, and LG was getting much better. His reasoning was that GE makes quality stuff, the parts are readily available and everyone works on them, but GE was the brand he did worked on least often. Our Samsung will soon be relegated to the garage as it is a nice unit otherwise. I researched and looked a few including GE, LG and Kitchen-Aid. We getting a GE pretty soon.

I have regular old top freezer style fridge that we bought new as a scratch-and-dent model over ten years ago in the garage that is working fine. Is a pain in the ass when I need to put deer quarters whole slabs of bacon or meat lugs in it. French doors will be way easier on my back, lol. The Samsung is bigger and probably more efficient, too. I will likely buy from Home Depot. They will deliver and install new, relocate the Samsung and haul away the old one for $50 or something like that. I bought a chest freezer from them about 6 years ago, and it was a good delivery experience.

Yeah my current one came from an old mans basement and have never had an issue with it. Sucks to get rid of it only b/c of a lot of stickers on it will be lost, but the ease of use will be a welcome change.

Do you have a Costco available? That’s who we went through. Free delivery and setup, they moved the current fridge to the garage, the old one taken away and set everything up. No extra charge. Plus they were cheaper than Lowe’s or Home Depot.
Sam's club might offer the same.

Edit: they also provided all the installation hardware. Our last one we had to buy the water line.

The actual ice maker is in the door, not inside the refrigerator taking away shelf space. The samsung was inside the fridge. The GE version of this didn't come in counter depth.
Personally i could give 2 💩 about an ice maker, I don’t use ice, except for the craft ice I’ll throw in the bourbon glass…. I have the molds for those.
