Sons a bitches bookended me! A nice 10 (new to our area) was there at 5:51 this morning and the one I’m after showed up at 7:40 this evening. Did end up seeing 9 does and a 8 pointer along with a ton of extremely noisy turkeys. Back at it tomorrow.

Shit I will never pass a 140 unless I know there is a 200 I’m after. Guess that’s why I will never kill a slammer. I’m good with it, the chase is 300 times better than the kill.

Ah..... THE CHASE.... Isn't that why we do it... Gotta be something that fuels us to put our bodies through what we do.... And it seems when it comes to deer we always end up on the short end of the stick... But we keep plugging away...
Cold and quiet. No deer yet but the conditions seem perfect. I’ve got 14 doves and 3 squirrels on the pile. Some of these fox squirrels are huge.
Today had a doe and fawn come in at 12:50 and leave at 1:20...no more action until 5:30 when a lone fawn came in followed by a wide 6 pointer with no brow tines at 5:45.
Totals so far are Saturday-9 does one 8 pointer...Sunday nothing seen...Monday one doe, two fawns and a six pointer. Hope the action picks up soon...makes for a long day with only a few sightings...but at least I’m seeing deer.

I talked to an older gentleman who was running beagles yesterday in an overgrown field down the road from my property...he said his dogs jumped a huge buck...biggest he’s seen in a long time. He said it was bedded in the field during all of that wind. It ran to my side of the road into an overgrown field about 1/4 mile from my place. He also said that if someone was lucky enough to get him, it would be a damn shame if they didn’t put it on a wall. If I get him, that’s exactly where he’s going!
Saw four does/fawns and three small bucks. Not a lot for an 11 1/2 hour sit. Total so far 16 does/fawns and 5 bucks in 46 hours on stand. I’ve got another 9-10 days and if I don’t get my target buck, I’ll come back gun season then muzzleloader if need be.
Saw 4 does in the morning. A six pointer mid afternoon...a one horned spike about an hour before dark, who was joined by the 6 point I saw earlier. They spared for a bit...the spike didn’t fare to well. 15 minutes before dark a 8 pointer joined the party. Wide rack, ok mass but short tines.
Sat today and only saw a doe and fawn in the early morning...nothing else for the rest of the day.

I've sat 3 days in a row now and have not seen a deer.... I think there's only one deer in this woods....
Big boy showed up a little over an hour from me getting out of the stand. I’ve got seven full day sits under my belt with seven more to go. If I don’t get an opportunity, I’ll be back gun season.
