Get your ass in illy my man.
Well $800.00 in tags in my wallet and bucks are running out there... Friend Tod has seen a ton so far today... There's a giant near him growling like crazy chasing every deer that goes in thicket... He caught a glimpse of him once... He said get your ass out here and jump in my stand... He's done till gun season as the heavy nine came by one too many times... Pics whenever he can send them.... Packing truck now...

I was sitting here thinking that I’ve spent more time in my blind this year then the past three seasons combined. 2017-2019 spent a total of 4 days and got 3 bucks. The one I’m after this year is really making me work. Hope it pays off. Don’t think I’ve been skunked since 2010 in Ohio....and the funny thing is that 2010 was the best rut I’ve ever witnessed, just didn’t have the right one show up...biggest I passed on was a 120” eight point, but after seeing a few 140’s and 150’s, it was a gamble I chose to take.

Saw a doe and fawn this morning. A 8 pointer around 11:15 and 5 Toms in between. Around 5:00 had two does and two fawns come in. One doe was acting squirrelly and went across the ravine to the top of a hill. Then she started snorting at something. The other deer eventually followed her and they all went over the hill. Tomorrow is my last sit before heading home. Looking forward to gun season, as I usually fill my tag during bow and don’t get to hunt Ohio gun season often.

Made it home safe..got home around 2:00pm and got the truck unloaded. Nice to be home! The storm that went through Ohio is now between Harrisburg and Philadelphia...probably hit us here in south Jersey around 7:30. A tree fell near my stand in Ohio today...here’s the before and after pics....

Looks like it was a dead tree...not large but the wind was enough to take it down.

The first two picks are of a buck I was after last season. On the last day of gun season a dude took a 200 yard shot at him at last light (about 1/4 mile from where I hunt). I was told that he hit it in the back leg and the deer ran off with the leg flailing. He tracked it and lost it. A friend of a friend got a pic of him about a month later...leg still attached but rotting off. No one got any pics of him after that...no one found his sheds or body. I got this pic of what I believe is him. Real nice rack on one side and other side is shit. They say the opposite side rack of an injury to the body will grow abnormal. His leg appears healed but his body isn’t what it was last year...he looks thinner. It’s a shame that someone would take a bad shot at a buck just because it is big....total lack of respect for the game we pursue.
