My taps have dried up the past 4 days. I see a few trees growing red buds today.
Jouneryman has distilleries in Michigan and Indiana. I bought it from Midwest Barrels in Lincoln Nebraska. It's only 5 gallons and they had a variety of sizes from different distilleries to chose from.
Settled up today. My sap made 22 gallon of syrup, my share was 11 gallons. My 5 gallon whiskey barrel is actually 6 gallons. After filling that I have 5 gallons bottled.

Here’s my buddy’s set up. I stopped out to his farm to split some wood last week and he was boiling sap. He has 8 tins (maybe 3 gallons each) and it seems to work pretty well. Just constantly adds more sap and keeps moving it to the forward tins. Wood fired as you can see.

Got my barrel aged syrup bottled. It is fantastic!!
The advice I got was to get a new, freshly emptied barrel every year. But I’m thinking pouring a fifth or 2 of cheap whiskey in the barrel for a few months should “refresh” it. I need to do more research
Had 170 taps this year. Collected about 1650 gallons of sap that made 36 gallons of syrup, my 1/2 will be 18 gallons.
