Broke down and fired up the boiler Friday night. Tired of listening to the wife and daughter complain about a cold house. It was 69 degrees in the house! Oh well. We are burning now. Almost made it to November. Tonight I got another dump truck load cut to length. Need to split and stack. Then bring another load over to the house. I'll be out of stock piles then and have to get it out of the woods. This was a fun load to cut. Pulled out the 462 with the 32" bar.

Any of you home wood heaters switch to premixed gas yet? I bought a can just to run through my saws just a possible clean out for them is my thinking. It would be very expensive to burn all the time. 2 dollars a tank is way too much when I get cutting heavy but I'll be using it in the slow months from now on for its stability.

I don’t burn wood for heat but do quite a bit of cleanups after storms. I’ve seen the cans of premixed but thought it was a bit pricey for what it is.

Its also cheaper to buy it by the gallon. It seems someone always has it on sale. TSC, Rural King, Family Farm, Walmart or anything else you might have around you.

you don't have to buy premixed gas to get the same fuel. most Sunoco stations sell ethanol free gas. and if you do a search it will tell you where you can buy it locally. the fellow at our local Stihl dealer flat told me the premixed gas is no different, implying what a gouge job $32 for a gallon really is. ethanol free gas is 91 octane and cost me $3,99 for a gallon. I can mix 5 gallons of my own with Stihl brand oil and fuel stabilizer for about the same $32. I'm not willing to pay 5 times as much for convenience.

What does it sell for on sale a gallon? I saw the husky brand at 20.99 I think regular price.

A buddy is heading to the middle-east for a 1 year, we're all to old to serve but he's going to run a couple chow halls as a contractor. He managed restaurants as a living.

Been trying to go since Rona popped up, he go the call 📞 Wed, to leave nothing coming Fri. Yesterday i spent some time cutting.. dunno 4 or 5 18-20" oaks down that had been killed by various storms over a couple years. Prolly burtlnt about 1/2-3/4 of a cord.
Started burning at noonish, this is about 2200, great 🔥 a couple couples and laffs, just letting the pressure off before he deploys.

Had two pretty heaping dump truck loads dumped in my firewood stacking area. They waited for me until after gun season. Burnt thru a couple tanks of gas tonight. Stacked some of the smaller stuff. Got a bunch ready to split and stack. This is all ready to burn. Probably a couple cords when I'm done. Maybe a few. Made a good dent tonight.
