I never thought of the smell getting stale in a tote, makes sense. Looks like I will have to re-wash my stuff and just smoke before the hunt.

Guess what I'm doing right now?:smiley_coolpeace::smiley_clap:

.....you guessed it! I'm smoking up all the rest of my gear including my last LW treestand, bow ropes, bow & arrows, quiver, boots, safety harnesses, binos and my two ground blinds. I built a nice fire in the patio pit so it will be already roaring this evening then shot my new SS Magnum 100's at 20,30 and 40 yards with great success! Gonna drink a few beers tonight and have an enjoyable evening with my family around the fire!

This is TOO good thread material but I gots smoke going everywhere!:pickle::smiley_crocodile:

I should get my smoker tomorrow. I was telling a buddy of mine tonight that I would like to find an old metal locker and he said he has TOO and I was welcome to one or both of them. Sounds like an awesome beginning to a "smoke shack".

Sounds like a great evening in the making Ric. If ya would pm me your routine you go through throughout the year and any tips and words of advice you may have about the smoker. I am trying to get all the advice and tips from members about this " new to me" endeavor.

This is an official invitation for y'all to pm me, I feel like I am already pushing the limit on Rics post, any tips, advice, words of wisdom and your routine if you would. Thanks and sorry Ric if I kinda hijacked your post.

Beentown - I've seen two of your posts in the last couple of days "testifying" for the SS. I appreciate the effort, buddy. That is what sells 'em and spreads the word on the technique. Thanks, again!

You ain't hijacking Don. I just finished smoking the rest of my gear today cuz this weather has me primed. I'll be smoking up my truck seats and my camo once again when I'm dressed and rolling out of the truck heading to my stand.

It's still roaring on! Man, I don't want to go in! I believe I give it another hour and let the thread go back to smoke instead of fire...lol

Looks good FS.

I do like the blind method of smoking up.

I have also found that since I am smoking in the garage, it's easy to unfold a step ladder, place my clothes on the rungs, and put the smoker under the tepee - and then hit everything individually.

Kinda funny, I did some squirrel hunting this morning and wore my fleece pants. Little burnt spot from the ole smoker!

xbowguy will tell you to watch your hair. Not that we haven't all had similar experiences, but I think one of his first times using it he smelled like singed hair. Seems like when you are starting to run low on wood/smoke if you use the plume and try to get it built up again you can throw sparks. I am sure most everyone here using the SS has a hole in a piece of gear or has smacked themselves on top of the head when a hot ember was forced out using the bellows.
