Awesome!!!! Do you have a favorite recipe that you could share? I got a few that i would like TOO cook up and try a new one with them.
I have a few things working in my favor toward getting wife out in the woods. one, she loves dogs(especially this one) and is anxious to see Lefty work and be a part of that. she likes shooting her rifle, put some time in at the shooting bench this summer, and is damn good at it. she likes eating squirrel gravy as much as I do. all that, and squirrel hunting behind a talented pleasure/meat dog is easy and enjoyable. no need to be quiet, no sneaking around in super stealth mode, no sitting still for hours at a time. we walk around in the woods, work with the dog, shoot our guns and bring home some food. I doubt I could ever make a bowhunter out of her, but this she likes. something remarkable has happened to my wife in the last two days. she had never killed anything on purpose in her entire life until Friday. now she has a little bit better idea why we hunt. an understanding of what it's really about. a new perspective; the type that only comes when you pull the trigger yourself and get some blood on your hands.
I've never hunted squirrels with dogs but would love to do it some time. Looks like great fun.
thanks. you should not refer to me as "Mr. Miller", lest the good folks here who don't already know better think I'm deserving of any such respect.
Mike, that is hilarious! my wife really struggles to go from looking at squirrel with naked eye to finding them in the scope. I get really aggravated with her sometimes. hell, she gets aggravated with herself. I know it takes some practice and experience to do it without thinking, but I lose patience fast when there is a squirrel that needs shot. Lefty gets pissy about it, too. :tantrum: to her credit, she has gotten quite good at finding them when we approach a tree.
