I've never had a " fully contained " camper before. Just the same, the only plumbing mine has is the toilet. Will I have to be concerned with winterizing the holding tank, when that time arrives, I really don't plan on pissing in it much, other than waking up at night. I'd be rinsing it out with water afterwards.

Funny. John replied about your john. :smiley_crocodile:

I would think when you winterize the line to the toilet some of the antifreeze will end up in the holding tank. Might add another swig in there to ensure it doesn't freeze and bust your tank. Cheap insurance. Honestly never crawled under any of our campers to see if there is a p-trap under the toilet, but I believe they all just drop straight down into the tank. I could be wrong.

I know a thing about johns. Lol
No trap on the shiter just sinks. The tank would have to be completely full to freeze and break. It's the water expanding when it freezes that breaks the lines. There's room in the holding tank for that. I don't think ours is ever completely empty.

Last spring, summer, fall was the longest that I can recall. We sold our 97 Fleetwood Prowler 26-T due to the birth of son #2 and I only made it tent camping 2 times for TOO outings. The layout would not work with two little ones so we unloaded it.

Just ordered our replacement yesterday, take delivery late Feb/early March. Went with 28BHS model:pickle:

Sweet, looks like some family fun right there. Our camper is down there in Ohio at my dad's. Figured we could use it off and on through the spring to have a place to bring the dogs and all when we do some shed hunting and hopefully turkey hunting too. Will bring it back up and use it for actual camping sometime around then.

I only saw the page with all campers. Didn't see which one you got Adam. 28BHS? I am guessing 28' bunkhouse with a slide out? Sounds nice. They are all pretty nice anymore. Hope you guys get a bunch of enjoyment out of it.

Yea, 28' box with slide. Nothing fancy, just an entry level model.

As much as I would have liked to have a RLS, the bunks will surely be used by the boys over the years. We were dead set on the Aspen Trail 2760bhs until we got to check it out at the show. Its made by Dutchman whos owner by Thor who makes 65% of the trailers on the market. The quality just wasnt there when compared to Keystone and Jayco. Keystone turned the corner sonewhere in the last few years, as I was not even considering them anymore. I am glad my wife pulled me into one! Now is the time to buy for a great price for anyone looking.

A pretty good tour of the UP can involve visiting all the different waterfalls that are up there. My wife and I did that on our honeymoon throughout the UP and it was incredible!

That is sweet Adam! I think the 180 LCD is pretty slick. We have a 20" which came with ours but have never used it. One of these trips we will get slammed with rain and be thankful it is in there. Been lucky so far.

The bunks look roomy. Is the couch a jack knife couch or does it pull out like a hide-a-bed?

Sofa is jack knife, hide a bed is an option in a few of the other models, but not this one.

Got the call from the dealer this past week, and our unit rolls off the line the 2nd week of April. Good thing because this weather is really starting to tease! All setup for Saturday 4/26 to take delivery.

Until then, I started to put together a file with all of our camping pictures. It's something that I wanted to start before our boys were born so it could stay up to speed easily, but I guess never to late. I am thankful my wife grew up tent camping with friends and her family's trailer, but mainly just for fair weeks. It didn't take much to talk her into our first rig the spring after we got married. Here's a few pictures to share, lets see yours!

First trailer together as a married couple: 1983 Fleetwood Wilderness - 27'. Front kitchen, middle bed, rear bath. Hot water heater did not work, and it had a residential standup fridge only. I had to rebuild the entire front wall due to water damage, and the rear bath closet was getting soft from a leak. No frame mounted jacks, stationary only lol. Pulled it with around with a 2001 2500 w/Duramax. Didn't use a WDH, but would have benefited from one looking back. We got a lot of use out of this old girl for a year.

2nd trailer - 1997 Fleetwood Prowler 26'. Front kitchen, mid bath, rear bedroom. We had this one for 4yrs and I would not have sold it if the layout would have worked with 2 little ones. I pulled this unit with both the 2001 2500 and the current 1500. While I miss the diesel like crazy, the 1500 handled it just fine Our oldest, Ty, practically grew up in this trailer the summer of 2012.

Very nice Adam. Enjoyed the pictures. I need to dig out some of ours. We got a lot of years out of our 1980 Apache pop up camper. Pulled it with my 2000 Dodge 3500. I always laughed when we passed or got passed by a little truck pulling a fifth wheel. Looked like we should have traded campers. Paid for when we bought it though and that was a comforting feeling the years we only used it once or maybe twice. Hard to justify the cost of the big campers if you aren't able to use them much.

Thanks Phil, dig out those pictures some afternoon soon, lets see em! Camping was a big part of my youth and then again with my wife, and now with my boys. A lot of people dont understand why people camp until they go. We dont take a beach vacation each year, instead a bunch of mini excursions spread out spring-fall.
