We're supposed to initiate the outright purchase of the house under the current terms of our land contract next spring, so I'm waiting to see that through. It may be that we don't do that and continue just making payments to supplement dad's retirement. Regardless of the move we make, we'll be in a better position in the spring and prices should still be great.

Levi had a summer goal of catching a nice “largie”.

What a great weekend! Ate and drank like some real professionals.

All the talk last week about tires, I really got away with one this weekend. A few weeks back I smashed a pothole pretty bad on 71 with the truck. Messed my steering up and everything. The truck created a vibration around Dayton. Continued to get worse the further we went north. On the way back it got real bad. Backed the camper in the driveway, got out and seen my problem. Must’ve broke a belt when I hit that pothole and with the heat and added weight, she let go. Luckily it didn’t blow! I can’t stress enough how important tired are folks. It is what sticks you to the road. Don’t buy cheap tires, this is what happens.

My BIL just bought this camper a month or so ago, mostly to grandfathered into the seasonal location. They tried to like the floor plan but have decided to sell it and get a bigger model. Happy to forward his cell if any interest:

I gave my wife a ration of shit last night over campers. Two years ago when I started the convo, I was crazy. Last night, she was pissy because I didn't want to join the little "camper clique" that's grown from her work friends because it meant tent camping in mid-August and I'm over that shit. "Well, if we had a camper already..." Oh!!! So now when you want one, we should have had it yesterday and when I wanted one, we should have one never. I see how it is!

I’m in total agreement with the Eff the tent in August mentality. Maybe in upper Michigan, but not in Ohio. Tents suck in the summer. Period.

On the second stop and I haven’t got out of the truck yet...everyone else has. Still an hour to go. Get used to stopping if traveling with family! I’ve been doing this for years and it still pisses me off when one gets hungry or has to pee. 😂 I just want to hammer down and not stop!
That’d be my wife. A 5-hour drive would require 3 or 4 stops. Absolutely infuriating. 😂

You just have to get all hooked up and leave at 2-3am. Make them sleep and you get to drive without stopping. Keeps restroom stops down and keeps you out of gas stations and losing $50 🤣
