He did mention he was going to have his dad look at it to see about lining it but didn't think he would because of the overall condition. They are going to tap into the same vein, but a new bore and seal the old one.

For about the last week we've had chocolate milk colored water coming out of our well. The well is only 11 years old so I thought it could just be the changing water tables and it will eventually clear up. We've had cloudy water before but it only lasted a day or two. Yesterday I shocked the well hoping it would help. After flushing the well the water was still chocolaty in color.

Today I called the company who saved our well 2 years ago when it wasn't able to keep up with the consumption used during a shower. They saved it by using muriatic acid to eat all the minerals that formed a cement-like layer. He went out to the house and turned on the spigot and sure enough chocolaty water flowed. His recommendation is for a new well as he believes there is a hole in the steel casing allowing mud to enter into the aquifer. Est. cost: $3500. Merry Christmas!

Dude that sucks.... Sorry too hear of this.... Never a good thing but really a bad time of year....

This is truly dump worthy. My wife convinced me to go get swabbed last night for strep. Sure as shit I have it for the first time in my life. So I've been on the antibiotics for 24 hours now. My throat feels 100x better, but I could shit through a screen door and never touch a wire. I've had the water squirts since about 3 a.m. They said that could be one of the side effects, but damn.

Sorry to hear it John. No monthly water bill is nice. Then you get one huge freaking bill when it is time to pay up. 11yrs seems premature for a well casing failure.

Yes, definitely premature. The well log says the casing was threaded but it could have been welded also. The guy who drilled our well typically welded the casings so I don't know why mine would be different. He's dead now so I can't ask him.

Eat some probiotic yogurt twice a day. I'd bet money you've had strep before. Sorry about the well HL.

Fugg that! 2 things in the world that instantly make me gag are yogurt and iced tea. Honestly, if I ever accidently
ingest poison near any of you just dump some iced tea or yogurt in my mouth and I guarantee it will work

Just paid $380 to the county so that I can have their permission to have fresh, healthy water for my family. That really pisses me off.

Yet when you bring up passing legislation to make farmers responsible for nitrate runoff in streams everyone loses their mind. Lol.

Buried my lifelong best friend today. I was honored being one of the pallbearers.
We celebrated his 43 year old life on this beautiful day.
He was single and raising his 10 year old daughter with help from his 75 year old parents.
The mother is not so good in and out of relationships, evictions, employment, etc. Gave up custody most recently to the father whom is now deceased.
Probably be a power struggle in the works in between bad mother and 75 year old parents.
How'd I'd love to become a Captain Phil Hicks and take the forever commitment.
Good, yet unreasonable intentions.

Very sorry to hear this Ben! Sad situation for sure!

They set the rig up Friday and I was really hoping we'd have water by today. They sealed the old well and then began drilling the new well. They drilled 4 ft deeper than the old well and found water, unfortunately it's rate was only 5 gpm and the water was dirty. They told the wife they were going to leave it to see if it cleared up and then possibly drill deeper. They didn't come back Sunday, which we were expecting them to, but everyone should have a day of so no big deal. Now it's raining so I don't know how that could effect them.

Anyhow, we have no water, but thankfully the i laws love close and we've been filling jugs and showering there. I thinking I'm going to purchase two water safe 55 gallon drums in case this ever happens again. Damn.

Hopefully your problems will end shortly John.... We all take for granted that we open the faucet and good water will flow out.... Sucks when it doesn't work out that way....

It's precious! Lol!

I cleaned about 1.5" of clay and sediment out of the water heater, and about 0.5" of clay out of the reservoir of our downstairs toilet. Gonna clean the others tomorrow.
