I'm getting too old for this! The wife had her company Christmas party last night. Drank from 6-1 and I'm up getting ready to head to the farm. I will need a nap at some point!

Be safe and good luck. I was on the road from 430-530am this morning checking parking lots for ice. Never saw a deer in my travels. Thinking this means deer should be moving at sun up? I dunno. Just seems logical if they weren't moving in the dark.

Passed 2 does running down the road on the drive in. I'm off to hunt a new spot on some public. Left at 5:45 just got settled, the fluffy snow on those leaves were ridiculously slick. I almost didn't make it up a hill I'd take a step grab a tree, take a step grab a tree, take a step grab a tree, SNAP!, dead tree find another lol made it up the hill tho!

And cut a set of 3 yote tracks on the way in. Maybe I'll see one of them today.

Took my girlfriend out this morning behind our house in Ross county. We saw two does and a decent buck. Thought she was going to get a shot at one of them, but it disappeared and I have no clue where it went. Jumped the buck walking back to the house and he took off to a nearby woodlot. Hope he makes it, he will be a shooter next year. The 3 deer that we saw this morning in two hours in Ross county, is three times the amount we have saw hunting together the last two gun seasons in Highland county combined.

First skunk of the year underway. I got a big bodied deer up and was on his track, then cut trespasser tracks. Not on out farm, so not much I can do unless I get Hippie Ridge locked down next year. Bummer of a day. But it's beautiful out.

Helped a friend drag a buck out this morning. That is always good.

Got a call from Bowhunter57. Said he finally saw a deer. Too bad it was after someone shot and simply died in front of him70-80yds. Said the guy tracked it to my property line, saw him, then turned around and left. Maybe i missed something in the story, but the dude was just going to leave it. What a worthless puke. I really don't care if he comes and gets it. I simply expect a courtesy phone call first. With BH57 there, you think the douche wagon would have had the decency to ask if he could get it. Some people blow my mind. I happened to see another guy hunting south of BH57 who I know so I got in touch with him thinking it was his deer. Apparently they both showed up to drag it out shortly after.

I went out the first day of gun season with a buddy and didn't see one deer. Thought I would go out this morning for a few hours, and didn't see anything. This has been a very poor year for me....haven't seen many deer. I will still go out a few more times, but I'm not going to get my hopes up.
