I'm in route. Not sure where I want to be today, so I'm still hunting to my spot. And I hate being up early, so a few bumps of the snooze were in order today.

Goes to show that weight and penetration beats speed any day. Congrats again man!!

So yesterday my shoulder was hurting all day at work. And when I get home I way rough housing with my woman and play tackled her on my bed. Well, when that happened I heard a pop in my shoulder and it began throbbing with pain. I instantly thought, oh no. What if I can't pull my bow. So I set up my target and put my arrow on. And let me tell ya, it was all I could do to even begin drawing my bow. Of course this happens right before I have 3 straight days to hunt. I'm so mad at my self. I was able to gimp and pull back twice. But it was a struggle. And it was the same thing this morning. I tried drawing in the hunting room and it was nearly impossible. I mean I'm sure if a big one gives me a shot I'll be able to tough it out. But I know ill make some noise and have to struggle to get it back. And yes, I know I sound like a grumpy ol man lol. But we'll see what happens.

Good luck fellas! Ive been in stand since 6:15, hoping to see Wiley in person. Hes been passing thru predawn on a regular basis per the cameras.

Going to try n "speak the language" today. Rattlin horns, the can, and grub tube. Just need the wind to switch to a more westerly direction to help carry the sounds.

The geese sure are loving this wind!

Snow in the forecast next week....dump it!!

Had my buck just 10 minutes ago dead to rights at 41 yards. Im hunting the ground, something im not use too. He jumped the string... bounded off about a 100 yards, looked back, blew, game over. I suppose im a bit content knowing I finally got up close and personal. Hes come off the same bedding twice this week. So time will tell if I spooked him bad enough he ditches town. As I type theres 3 coyotes 70 yards out.

In the blind with Garrett (my 9yr old) since 615. A little windy which makes the blind an even better choice. Also helped cover us going in. Bumped nothing. At 715 Garrett says 800 sounds like a good time to quit for the day. Doh! I told him we were next to a bedding area and the deer kinda mingle and taken their time getting back here to bed. Might have to hold out a little longer lil brother. We have played with can call and grunt tube already. Might tickle the antlers to keep his attention longer. This is a prime location for cruising bucks. We need to hang here as long as I can. Up to the little man.

Given the time of year man I'm sure he'll be back. He's Probly already forgotten about it and his mind is on chasing does.

And kill them damn yotes.

Set up a ground blind. Put it in a timber treetop from the loggers. Put it where the bucks were going thru yesterday morning... Any deer I see will be in shooting range. Could be a boring morning...

I think the seeking is starting here. Seen two bucks so far this morning. Nose to the ground, on a mission. One was a smaller 6 point, the other was too far away and too dark to really see antler, but he was a biggun.
