Looking great Jesse! I also did many of the same chores this weekend. Only got a portion of my spraying done early Saturday… then the wind kicked up and it’s been howling ever since. Pruned all my hydrangeas and trees around the house, string trimmed, mowed, straightened up some of the landscaping borders. It really does feel good to be cleaned up from the winter. I can honestly say I’m ready for summer now.
Good, we will see you at Paint Creek.

Been working on a couple things around the house. One thing we had on our radar was to get an egress window installed in the bedroom in the basement. This allows it to be an actual bedroom by building codes. We figure it will help with selling. To be able to market a 4 bedroom versus 3. I contracted the actual installation of the window. I didn’t have a saw big enough to cut through the poured walls. The company did a good job installing the window. After they were done it was my turn to close the wall up. Got it all framed and patched up. Time for primer and paint. We will paint the entire ceiling then all the walls. Once that is done it will be time for new flooring. This is one of those projects that we will tinker with here and there. Probably take us another couple weeks to finish it up.

Been wanting to get a flag with a pole to put out for front of the house for a long time now. Finally got to it. Went to menards and got 20ft pole. I also bought a flag light landscape that you could install to top of the pole. I gotta say I impressed how the flag light turned out.

Had a chance over the last week to finish up the basement bedroom. Well not officially finished. Have a couple punch items left. Was 20” short on baseboard in the closet. Need 2 replacement outlet covers and a shade for the light. This pic was before window trim. Will take final pic tomorrow after outlet covers and final baseboard piece.

I’ve been wanting to build a bat box for about 10-12 years now even though we’ve always had about 8-10 that fly around above our house in the evenings from spring through fall. Anywho, I had some scrap wood from my FIL and a yard stick from the early 70’s our dad gave me that’s been needed used for something for 5 plus decades. Lol
The cedar boards I used for the sides were warped a little but I made them work. I sprayed a heavy coat of polyurethane and black indoor/outdoor paint on the exterior. Hoping to find a spot to hang it where we can watch them bail in the early evening from our porch.

Has anyone here ever made one of these and has had success housing these incredible mosquito eatin machines?
