Sorry Dave, perhaps I'm just little pissed to see these fuggin things priced the way they are today. It's just nuts.

So, what's the depreseation of one the moment you drive one of them new ones off the lot today.

I can only imagine. Don't answer, cause I'm afraid it'll make more sick than what I already am about it all.
Shouldn't be so pissed at them. These new prices are part of the reason our old trucks are holding the value they do. Hard to believe I could sell my 1995 F450 dump for $6000-8000 today when I paid $9500 15 years ago. The old 7.3L or 5.9L Cummins in a clean/low mile truck brings silly dollars. If a new diesel pickup was selling for $45000 I'd guess my 06 Dodge would be less than half it's current value. You just take the good with the bad. And the good? Well the new diesels are badass. Also good? I don't need badass. Lol

My last 2, even as GM's, have appreciated lol. I could make decent $ on my WT trim with 25K miles by trading in, even more on private party. As Phil said, it's a weird/good thing they cost so much now.....fuggin nutz!

In today's market, you actually don't have depreciation. A slightly used truck is worth more than a new one.
Okay, if you say so. I can't get idiots at dealer shops to fix the Caddy right the first time every time. Again, it's a big scam, the whole auto market today. Just my opinion.

BTW. I'm not arguing that these new truck prices are crazy. But to compare an old used up pickup to today's isn't a comparison at all. You should be happy with what you have. But to say it matches these new trucks is truly laughable.

Agreed. Just don't know when that changes. As in, when do you draw the line? "This twenty year old truck is just fine." Do you still say that when it is a 30 or 40 year old truck? Probably not. And by then a new truck will be $125-150000.
