Glad to see so many at the table for dinner!! I always ate at the table growing up. Sucks we got off track for so long as it really makes for good family time we haven't had in a while.
so Nancy and I picked about 15lbs of Chantarelles today. was like a friggin' sauna in the woods. shade made it semi-tolerable. whenever I make Jasmine rice, as I did a few days ago to eat with some salmon, I make extry enough for a batch of fried rice. shrimp fried rice with fresh chants. weren't none too hateful.

I pilfered this from Jesse's post in the podcast thread. it's hard to imagine cocoa crusted venison loin being eclipsed by ANYTHING, but these mushrooms are to die for. I mean, I seriously have an addiction to them. if there is a higher power, it put deer and chanterelle mushrooms on this rock for us to eat together. I did not find that podcast very interesting, however.
We kept it simple tonight, tenderloin and jasmine rice... Simple, but so damn good.... How anyone can say deer meat is gamey probably eats their steaks well fuggin done....
