smoked brisket, burnt ends, mac & cheese, duet of sauteed asparagus from the garden, milkweed shoots from the yard. burnt ends are the fucking bomb. USDA prime brisket ain't bad either.

It has turned into a family favorite suddenly. Asked them all what they wanted me to cook and this was what they decided. Man it was good!!!
I'd been wanting to try a hot dog burnt ends recipe for a while, finally smoked em up on Sunday to have with the family lunch/cookout. Cheap, easy, and delicious.
Definitely not my idea, I followed this recipe:

I have seen many versions of Burnt Ends and with the prices of meat these days, I was inspired to create hot dog burnt ends!

The difference I did was I used Stubbs Sticky Sweet sauce instead of making his sauce. My family is a bunch of pansies when it comes to anything remotely spicy, so I used a sweet BBQ sauce.

My last night of having to think about going to work in the AM. So, in celebration, spatchcock & leftover beans ....
Smoked chicken wings with butter and brown sugar glaze along with homemade scalloped potatoes tonight.
Just ate some of the above dinners leftovers for lunch and finishing strong with the perfect dessert on a nice hot sunny June day in the shade….
