01/17/23 - Junior out late with friends 😊

I tried to pull these images down much earlier today via the cellular service, and it did not happen for whatever reason, however I just received them just moments ago. So, I decided to make a short video out of them and share them with the world.

Hope you all enjoy, and thanks for watching!

And no other deer have showed up in front of any of my cell cams since this morning, which was shared in the previous post.

This is all I got at the moment, which I would safely say, it's a slow day for deer, and it's awfully warm outside too.

Regardless, if you happen to be out, or plan on being out, I wish you the best of luck! Get after them and have fun! It's beautiful outdoors too!!

7:00AM, Wednesday, January 18, 2023: '🦌Junior with Bugsy 🐰'

Morning!

The deer have been fairly busy at both properties already today. Just more of the same pretty much that I cared to share with you all once again, and to include all of it within my last ever hunt journal. I really hope that some of you got to enjoy some of what's been shared thus far already because unfortunately, all of this ain't goin to happen anymore beyond this hunting season.

Yes, as a matter of fact, I decided quite recently, moments ago actually, that I've finally decided to hang it up around here and no longer maintain a 'TOO' hunt journal anymore. I simply do not have the available time to keep them up and current anymore, and I have the awful feeling that it has become a huge waste of my time too, pretty much. Besides, everything and anything one cares to know about me or any of the deer that I been chasing has already been shared previously someplace within this internet online hunting forum, I'm absolutely certain of it! Trust me, I can easily find better things to do with my time.

So, before the big finale or conclusion of this hunt journal, I will try my very best to fill in any & all gaps of missing information for this past year. There is a bunch of photographs and videos I've yet to go through in order to complete this year's journal with all the wonderful outdoor hunting adventures of mine that are still in need of being documented properly someplace.

Anyway, wishing y'all have a fantastic hump day today! Have a good one!!

A late request finally fulfilled:

33f92900-9b9a-4de1-9366-75aa9a1a2ff7.jpg

One of the requested HD TC images that did not make it to me yesterday and I just received it this morning moments ago.

I mentioned yesterday that I requested some cellular trail camera pictures through my Tactacam cellphone application very early in the morning, and those requested never became available or sent to me until much later in the day. If fact, there were two of them that still did not make it to me yesterday at all, or until I just received them just minutes ago this morning.

This kind of issue has happened to me before but, I usually receive those TC HD images typically within the same hour of the request, however I would have to say to that the majority of the images requested do get sent to me rather quickly, like within minutes.

This type of delay issue has happened to me maybe a half a dozen times before, ever since I started using nothing but the Tactacam's cellular trail camera systems. all placed in location by July of 22.

Anyway, I really have not taken the issue up with Tactacam just yet, and IDK if this is happening with anyone else or is a known issue/problem? I thought I'd go ahead and share some of my most recent experience I have had with the trail camera solution I decided to go with this year.

Any feedback, suggestions or similar experiences shared would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

@home

Which just so happens to be our typical January squirrel rut, where during all winter daylight waking hours this time of year, I will receive a billion and one squirrel TC images, just like the one you see here, if not worse, that I always have to sort through continently/daily 😩😣😑

No other deer have showed up @home since after the last young buck a little bit ago at this feed site.

HD photographs are so much better though, Rich, especially when there's a camera much further away from a deer or deerz that you are wanting to identify specifically right away.

Yes, I pull down non-HD images all the time and that process is NOT the issue whatsoever, only with video and HD photograph requests that seem to cause the problem from time to time, and I cared enough to share my experience with all the others out there that may, or may not experience similar problems, thanks!

What is your Settings Check set to on the cameras that have the delay in receiving? If set to Daily then that would be the reason for a delay. Also what is your Send Type set to? If the camera has trouble with the cellular connection while attempting to send them at any time they will stop and try again at next check-in. After that (if they do not send again on the second attempt) I believe they just fall off the queue for sending.

Spotty cellular service is what I lean towards as to being the culprit of the problem really, but I haven't totally worked through it yet either, so there's that.

Anyhow, the cellular signal never gets any worse at all locations, only improves. All cameras are configured the same, which have been set for 'instant', and never changed since placed within the field back in July.

I have experienced where the local weather conditions will impact the cameras as well as far as performance goes, such as fog, direct sunlight, extreme hot & cold, or extreme low outdoor temps and of course, strong winds. All those types of weather conditions impact the wireless transmissions to some extent, and usually for the worse, resulting in negative network performance overall, or trying to get the most current remote data quickly, but neither camera has ever flat out failed in doing its job too.

I totally appreciate your help, Chuck! Thank you very much!

You can bet that I'll continue monitoring this whole situation further, as I go because I do have much bigger future plans on establishing what all I'll need from a infrastructure standpoint so I can conduct 'LIVE' broadcasts from multiple locations simultaneously from within our woods. That's the plan anyway.

Thanks again, and have a wonderful rest of the day too!

Settings look good so it does sound like service. Other thing I'm wondering if it could be is if you are going through and requesting many videos in a row you could be causing a back-log that causes them to fail? Then perhaps it delays the attempt at re-sending?

Just like most of my desired and beloved goodies in life, I always tend to take them to the next level, always trying to get the maximum capability in performance out each and everyone of them My father once told me as a kid, that I was way too hard on equipment , and that always stuck with me in life . As if it was something I was suppose to be proud of, and well, these Tactacams are no different to me when it comes to testing out their real max capabilities, and so far, I am truly impressed!

I do request data from the cameras as they work real time while deer are within proximity. Amazingly enough though, I never seem to miss any video requests, ever. They may be a little slow in retrieving sometimes, but somehow, Tactacam always seem to get the video thing straight every time, and like I said, I do pull down a whole lot of them too.

I am using these cameras as what I consider video recording beta equipment for potentially some much better, or higher end camera recording equipment/system. This kind of stuff is well within my field of expertise, so I fully intend on treating this dream of mine much like any other major project I've done throughout my professional career, but always for other people and/or organizations. This particular project/dream/goal of mine, when accomplished, should satisfy most every life desire for the rest of my days, and perhaps make me live longer too, who knows,,, but I think I can pull it off, and it should be something special.

It's somewhat a lofty goal/dream, but one that will be well worth it, for not just myself, but for the entire freaking world.

Once again, thank you!

Video description:

Just another day in paradise. This video is a slideshow of all the deer that stepped in front of one of the cellular trail cameras today, plus some more creek jam clearing work. I'm about halfway done with this particular wood log creek jam that is shown within this video. It'll get finished up and completely cleared within the week.

Gearing up for a Whitetail Deer archery bow hunt for next week, just to let you all know.

Hope that you enjoy, and thank you for watching!

Everything is all set for my next archery hunt. Stand rehung, feed site replenished and now I'm gonna go grab me some more firewood for the rest of this warm blustery, but yet gorgeous day.

The movie will be available later tonight that'll have all of today's travels & stuff 😀

10:00PM,Thursday, January 19, 2023: 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly 📽'

20230119_161953cover.jpg

Video description:

The Good was this afternoon's weather, which I took full advantage of.

The Bad was having the clutch go out on my chainsaw.

The Ugly was the evening’s storm, or weather front, which caused multiple property trees/limbs to snap/break and come down.

I monitor the weather conditions and forecasts all the time, and I figured ahead of time that there would be a window of decent weather to get things done before winter returns again.

As soon as the morning rain quit, I took off to grab my monthly supply of deer stuff. This video encapsulates most everything I accomplished today, including what Mother Nature had in store for me.

I originally planned on taking down my pop-up ground blind today because of the forecasted strong winds that was ahead of the storm front. I also wanted to rehang the LoneWolf tree-stand, just so I can get in another archery hunt, when winter returns.

I also tended to the feed site, replenishing the whole corn and even added more minerals.

As far as deer movement or activity is concerned, there wasn’t any, or hardly any to speak of, most likely because of the warm weather. I fully expect the feed site to explode though once winter returns, which should be tomorrow. I might hunt this weekend, at least, that’s what I’m shooting for. We’ll see what happens.

Hope you enjoy and thank you for watching!

11:25p.m. and still no deer have showed up @theotherfarm feed site yet. Such a huge swing in temperature for today too. I guess it's just another wild weather January 2023 day that's now in the book.

Good night all!

NOON, Friday, January 20, 2023: 'Video Drop & more'

More deer that were captured on one of the cellular trail cameras since the post earlier this morning.

Gee, I hope that some you around here other than poor Rich, enjoy seeing some of Ohio's deer. The real lack of participation and/or interaction really has me wondering sometimes, hmmm

Anyway. the deer activity seems to be back to what I anticipated now that the outdoor temperature has failing back to a normal for this time of year. I wish it would stay too.

Hoping that everyone is having a fantastic Friday!

Take it easy everybody!!
