'Jr' this evening, standing there looking all 'studly' considering it's been nearly one complete year since he got shot by someone.

'Junior' is one lucky & 💪🦌 I hope he continues to stay real close and has another great year of breeding. He's taller than most too. He's a big 🦌
------------------------------------
More than a three [3] year history of regular visits while staying nearby within the area. I've had a few close encounters of him over the years, but I've mainly had the pleasure of 👀 watching him work while hunting, typically from afar.
-------------------------------------
I'm thankful that 'Jr' seems to act and behave much like before his injury!

I hope he has the best rut of his life this year!

Goodnight! 🥱 😴

Good Morning!

A little moisture with 🌧 currently, the outdoor temperature 🌡 seems to be appropriate for some real good 🦌 🎬 this week hopefully 😀

Wanted to share some of the latest on the 🦌 🎬 here, which appears to be about normal for this ⏲️

Have a great day everyone!

Take care!!

7:30 a.m., Monday, November 6, 2023: 'NO HUNT/💎'

1000021112.jpg

Good morning!

I haven't hunted since the morning of October 26, 2023, where I encountered multiple antlerless 🦌 at close range, and not an arrow took flight.

I've been keeping myself busy taking care things at the home-front over the past week or so. Did more setups for those that will be hunting later this month, and those spots should remain fairly active with 🦌, both day & night 🌙 for the rest of the hunting season, hopefully. I may go ✔️ on one them a little later today and report back. We'll see.

Anyhow, attached is the very latest this morning.

Hope you enjoy 😉 😊 ☺️

Fairly confident that some of the older and/or the more mature bucks should be cruising midday today. I'm just taking a quick look to 👀 with the bow handy :)

It's gorgeous 😍 out with a perfect south wind today. I just might get out for this evening 🤔 Yeah, I think 🤔 so 😅

Good luck to anyone else that'll get out later!

Take it easy!!

Two [2] nice size fresh 🦌 scrapes 10 yards away.

One [1] fresh 🌲pine licking branch at 20 yards.

Two [2] main 🦌 trails/runs at 10 & 50 yards away. The closest is between the 🏡 & 🌳. The further is towards the south.

This is the 'Buddy Stand' that is no more than 15' off the ground. It should be a killer setup for whomever. 😊

I'm back to work for a couple of hours, then I'll head out for a quick evening hunt this evening.

Getting close to the peak rut for this place, in about a week, things should be fairly nuts in the morning. 😃

Do you routinely bowhunt in blue jeans?

Absolutely not, never have before really, but I do work in them, and I occasionally keep the bow handy this time of the year because I'll be working within one of the creeks this afternoon. Plus, I simply checked the current conditions of that setup since it was spruced up nearly 10 days ago, and like I said, I'm quite confident that some of these elder bucks will move in closer and stay fairly close to the ladies. Plenty of documented history that backs my statement.

Hope I answered your question, and BTW, I posted a few years back on this site about 'Blues Jeans won't cut it". It's about how the color blue, which can be easily be picked-up by deer, or any person wearing a bunch of it will stand out to the deer because the color blue is the one color a deer can differentiate from any of the others, especially in the morning hours.

Like I said, I posted a video about it a while back, which was of a deer study. I wanted to fully understand what deer can actually see, where, and how much while traveling.

Blue jeans are loaded w UV which deer see very well. People hunt in them but you’re at a disadvantage in a tree. I’m sure Wildlife knows how and where his deer are most of the time

normally associated with the orange army

just wondered what his "normal" is, don't often see his photos with body parts in them

When you say you'll "be working within one of the creeks this afternoon", out of curiosity, what exactly are you doing in the creek? And I assume the deer got the memo and there'll be no adverse effects? Asking for a friend of course

10:00 a.m., November 12, 2023: '💎 Encounter'

1000021796.jpg

Morning 😃

I did a short morning hunt today, which it's been over two weeks since I hunted last.

Today’s hunt went like ⏰️ work, that is if I wished to harvest 'DIAMOND 💎', which I do not.

I may get out later this afternoon depending on what I get accomplished this afternoon. Wife's birthday 🎂 🥳 is today, so I'll try to get out later today 🙂

I will be in a 🌳 here @🏡 all day tomorrow if need be.

There were 🦌 still moving when I got down at 9:00 a.m., and I attached a gif file of the other two I saw below.

Video description:

Another exciting close encounter with 💎 today. It happened first thing this morning where he checked and freshened up three different 🦌 scrapes; two within 15 yards, and the real big one at 20 yards, which is underneath the [PLB] pine licking branch🌲that I hung a couple of weeks ago.

It surely felt wonderful to be back in the stand once again this morning. The last time I hunted was on the morning of October 26, 2023, which was the last time I encountered him at close range, just within 15 yards.

💎 is a buck that is slated to be harvested by a youth guest who will be gun hunting for him during the 'Youth Deer Gun Season', which will be this coming weekend, November 18-19, 2023.

I hope you enjoy today’s video, and thank you for reading & watching!

My boys are due to arrive sometime today, and stay with us over the holiday. Just wanted to say since I have some time on my hands at the moment, I wish everyone a wonderful week, and 'Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!'

I'm not sure when the next hunt will be, but for me, I'm in no hurry to fill a tag. There's venison in the freezer still, and I'm not hurting for it anytime soon, I know there are some good bucks in the area here at home, and at the other farm. I intend on hunting pretty much when I can, or when I feel like it, or when the time is right for something that I'm after, but regardless, I'm enjoying my season completely! Just wanted to share that with you all, thanks!

So, I have tons of recent deer and other wildlife content from memory cards swapped yesterday here at home. I quickly went through them and I just might put a video together when I have some time again over the next day or two, perhaps.

Anyway, above is a half-rack that lost the one side about a week ago. He's a resident, an aggressive busy one at that. I hope you enjoy today's latest, update, and thanks for allow me to share it with you all, especially to the owners, I do appreciate it!

Have a fantastic holiday week with your family & friends everybody!

Take care,
Denny - a.k.a. - Wilidlife, WildlifeOhio
