Got a call this morning that our 12,500 bu wet wheat bin collapsed this morning. I happened to be helping down the road a few miles at our smaller facility. It tore down or damaged 3 grain legs and leveld our pit house. My 2 co-workers happened to be in there cleaning out a leg and heard it starting to buckle and managed to get out a couple minutes ahead of the destruction. Gonna be a shitload of work ahead

Glad everyone is ok. What caused the collapse? Was the structure very old?

I know a Brock dealer that does milliron work....

Man that would suck and be a mess. I redid a leg and distributor cap that had gotten twisted in the wind and it was one of the scariest jobs I ever did.

This heat is killing me. I'm working midnights this week, indoors with no AC. It was 98 degrees in the building when we came in last night and 88 when we left. Tonight is a little cooler at 96. There is no air movement and hot machines running everywhere. I'm pretty sure I've lost ten pounds in sweat over the last few days.

Been mowing every afternoon before heading to work as well. Finally got the yard mowed, but it looks like dog crap, so I'm gonna hit it again Sunday to get rid of the clumps and high spots.

I feel you buddy. I built a deck and am repairing/staining another this week. Haven't been home before 8pm this week until today (storm came in). Whooped puppy!

Sounds like my days at UPS Fluteman. I remember loading trailers in this heat. Miserable hot and no circulation. Working like dogs at breakneck pace. It wasn't too pleasant outside today either.

Nothing major. Just sliced my thumb open. Just dump worthy because the ER sucks. Watching my tax dollars wandering around here looking for pain meds. You can pick them out easily. Then the lady asking billing questions wants to know if I am Hispanic. I ask why. She said " new requirement as part of new healthcare laws." Smells fishy to me. Too many questions for my taste. Name, address, phone, doctor info, insurance info, allergies to meds, name of emergency contact. Those are okay. Beyond that and I get my tinfoil out.

Haha. Stitches aren't bad its the stinking medicine that they numb it with. You just cut your thumb and the last thing ya want is somebody sticking a needle in it.

Yeah. Well, I didn't "just" cut my thumb. It was 5-6hrs ago at this point. Been in this room for 1hr20min and they haven't done a freaking thing. I am ready to walk out, head to Walmart, and buy some dang super glue. This is redonkulous!

Dang straight Don! The thought of it makes me turtle up!

Sorry to hear this Phil! Watching all the welfare and freebie snatchers pile up in ER raises my blood pressure and the long wait doesn't help much either...dang

I just walked out to chat with a nurse. I said "any estimate on time? I actually have insurance. You will be getting paid for my visit. I don't want any drugs. Just stitch me up so I can roll."

That was 20min ago. Not a thing yet. BS. Am I being selfish? Sure. Maybe a little. Maybe if I was screaming and hitting my "pain" button on this control then I would get some attention. Lol

2am. I am home. My only consolation was a hot PA who stitched me up. Too bad her cart was not properly supplied. She had to leave the room after numbing me up to get more materials. By the time she was done there were no numbing agents left for the last two stitches. She asked me if I wanted it numbed up again. I told her just to finish. Promised not to cry like a girl or move too much. I had sat there long enough. She said it needed 5 but due to the weird angle of the cut (top of big knuckle on your thumb) she could only get 4 in there. Oh well. Kinda wish she didn't have to do the 4th stitch twice since the numbing agent wasn't working anymore. She apologized at least. lmao

Truthfully if this is the only thing I have to gripe about then life isn't all bad.

Sorry Phil. The ER sucks...every time. Did you they ask you about firearms in the home?
