I hear ya thought I was the only one with that problem lol

lmao

Nope. Been playing this game for years and still can't figure the stupid things out. Either I am overthinking it or the deer need to be smarter so they can think the same as me lol. I don't know but starting to think I am the stupid one lol. Who in their right mind gets up earlier for hunting then work and sits there under all kinds of nasty weather when we don't have to leave the house lol.

Congrats boone like too see red leaves. I got out tonight and had 8 skinheads under me. It was all I could do not to stick another one for the freezer, but that would be number three and I hate to wipe the does out in my area. Plus with that many does around the bucks won't be far. I seen a giant six saturday morning in this patch. I need to move my stand placement or add another too cover a little more area, and then the cat and mouse game can begin. When I say giant six he is about 20 wide and 12 inch brows he is the biggest 6 I've ever seen almost like he is missing his g2s .

Thanks yote. I finally have some time to update you guys about my hunt Sunday. I decided to hunt then, because we were rained out on Saturday. I still haven't hunted a Saturday yet this year.

I had to attend a family function in the afternoon and almost didn't get to go. A few hours of daylight were left so I took off for one of my spots. After getting dressed at the truck, it is about 200 yards to the stand I wanted to sit in, which is half-way down a field edge. As the field is secluded, deer are often out in it now matter the time of day. Sneaking up to the field edge, I didn't see any deer in the main plot. However, as I looked left, down another line, I saw two deer feeding about 25 yards away. They hadn't seen me and I had a thin line of brush between me and them. I need to move forward two yards to reach an opening and I drew my bow at the same time. Right when I settled my sight pin on the largest one, it looked over at me. My arrow was faster. It was a great rush being able to sneak up and shoot one from the ground. Now I can focus on finding a buck.

From what I have been seeing in my neck of the woods. It isn't going to be long till the big boys start checking up on the does. The younger bucks are already getting the itch and trailing them or going over to smell where a doe was standing. There is only 2 cornfields still standing as of today and I figure they will be down by the weekend. Should force the big guys back into the woods thankfully. Hate cornfields sometimes lol.

Swung past this evening to see if the field had been done. NOPE. Figure it will be tomorrow or this weekend for sure. I did however see one of the guy that just shows up opening day shot a doe this evening. One thing me and Dante have NOT been doing the last 2 years because there just isn't enough of them out there. Stupid fugger has no clue and doesn't care either I don't guess. Some people just piss me off lol.

I feel your pain RedCloud. At one spot we hunt one of the neighbors has less than three acres. They have taken no less than 2 does each of the last few years. They shot one we know of during the early muzzleloader. We have been laying off the does there but it hasn't helped because of those idiots. :smiley_boos:

I hunted yesterday evening and saw a small 5pt and a fawn. The little guy was out cruising early, about 5pm. I still haven't seen a shooter on camera or with my own eyes this year. I'm starting to get antsy about it, but know it only takes one encounter to make a season. Are you guys hunting this weekend?
