Good luck Ric. Been hanging out since shortly after 6 here in the tree house today. Heard deer moving thru in the dark. Not counting on anything but I will tell you the does are not safe today. Time to fill the freezer with a doe from my property if I can be blessed with one today.

Scent Smoker Commercial. I don't know if you guys remember me asking about how the deer would use a small patch of thicket with standing corn around but I put a stand in there and It's going to be a hotspot! Even when the corn comes down I will still be able to sneak in without making any noise at all.

Killed a B&C squirrel today. He finally quit moving so I got down to fetch him up and hopefully reuse my arrow. He popped back to life and headed straight up a giant oak tree roughly 40'. Expensive and unrecovered squirrel. Not cool. Not a deer seen although I heard them before daylight moving thru. Tough part of owning and hunting a small parcel.

That happened to me my first year hunting. Shot a squirrel with a field point. next thing I know, my arrow is up a tree with a squirrel in the middle of it! little bastard. lol Took the bow back to the truck, got the .22 and shot him out of the tree. Got the arrow back, ate the squirrel.

Mine was a groundhog. The farmer had a bounty out on him. I was instructed to shoot any I saw. I put and aluminum arrow into one back in the day. It was shish Ka-bobbed and he scampered down his hole. I rushed over to try and save my arrow. Grabbed on the fletched side and pulled. He growled and I let him have it. He took the arrow further down the hole. Poor bastard.

Dang. I was ready to hit the woods and pound on the horns like Tommy Lee on his drums or groupies. Hahahahah! Seriously I am glad you posted this. I still may try some rattling but not overly aggressive.

In a different stand today. Haven't scouted much here this year. It is pointless with the corn as it is primarily bedding and I try to stay out. I have one easy access stand on the edge of backside where I am now. was hoping in the stand scouting would show me a big boy who isn't leaving the area much. So far squirrels and turkeys are all. Really need to slide out early and get some work done today. Time will tell. Lol
