Good sleepy. Gonna hang two sets of sticks and then watch the browns roll the bengals. Maxin relaxin

thats funny. i am debating wether to use the day off i have scheduled for tomorrow, or go to work and try to switch the day off to the gun opener. told the wife, "If the browns win, i'm going hunting, if the bengals win, I'm going to work".

I'll be out in the A.M.. Calling for heavy wind. If its super shitty out i'll sit for a little and then make a couple adjustments I didnt get around to today. Or could skip out morning and hit it in the P.M.. We'll see.

I wont be letting up to much until turkey day. I'm still confident. I want to catch old boy all worn down and looking for some more tail to hit

The high winds leave me with low hopes but I am in a ground blind now. Deer tend to bed close. Hoping a falling tree limb or similar loud noises gets them edgy and moving. Bit of a cove here which also may give them some comfort to move out and feed in the property owner's lawn. Yep. One of "those" kinda spots. Blind is really here for Garrett but I want to pole axe a doe or two to appease the owners. Hopes of a good buck on this property are bleak at this point. There is an old timer I would shoot given the chance. He went downhill this year and this was a perfect growing season. He had all the water, corn, beans and acorns he would have wanted.

Just added my views and a selfie showing my support of Hicks Lawn Services and the TOO Nation!

Dang. Doesn't look like they uploaded. Black TOO hoodie a Hicks hat and some views is what I tried to add.

20 mph sustained gusting to 30+ but you cant killem from the couch. 14% humidity and this wind dries me out. I am hoping it does the same for the deer. I am 75 yrds from a stock tank. One of only 2 i know of in this section. No natural water sources anywhere close.

So much for that. Nothing like tornado sirens going off to ruin my hunt and send me packing. Better safe than sorry. Not sure I can even log this one in as a "hunt". Home with the family now.

Who's all hunting in the morning?

looks like I'm working tomorrow. Fuggin Browns.

I left the house at half time and put a camera back out. Did a little in season scouting. Bumped a few deer along the way, including the forky from yesterday, 2 from a spot I hadn't even considered, found a couple fresher looking scrapes. decided on a good climber tree and trimmed some lanes around it. a productive day to some extent I guess.

I think i figured out what happened with this property. the landowners grandson has been cutting wood in there for about three months now. the bucks used to bed in the branches of some of the blowdowns which have all been pulled out. All the commotion caused by the skid steers, tractors, chainsaws... as well as the loss of there bedding cover has pushed them onto the neighboring properties that don't get hunted as hard. One property has a new feeder this year as well. Who knows, maybe if the wind blows a few trees down today the deer might come back when the snow flies. this property doesnt allow gun hunting either, that might help in a month or so.

Well well .... after sitting there wondering if I might die due to the wind, I decided to walk over & see what tree came down. I noticed the screen door on my cabin getting banged by the wind as I was getting out of the blind, so I went over to secure it better, then go the back way over to my neighbors, thru the woods. While walking thru, I noticed a good bodied deer out in the open. After standing there, it looked like it was going towards the Lot, as in the previous evenings right before dark. I ran back down & across my place to get back to the other side of the pop up & watch him walk thru. I figured I knew which buck it was, nothing big antler wise, but I could see him messing with a doe who was running off. I decided to put a lil stalk on, with the rain picking up. I got 25 yards when I could see him coming my way. He cut into the pines where my doe stood when I shot her & he stayed there. I did a few grunts afterwards, but he ended up walking over into the woods, where I had sat when I shot my doe. I never did see which tree came down, must have been inside the woods. Toomorrow, so we'll see what the a.m. is like.
