I see shingles but originally it would have been slate.

I grew up in a house of that era. Yes, the solid oak woodwork is amazing. Pocket slide out doors within rooms included.

Nobody has lived in it since 83. Two years after her husband died she built a small house across the road. Her son built a small house next to it. It's been vacant a long time. But they. She paid to keep it maintained. The whole farm will go to crap now as the lazy son owns it. He leases the 200 tillable acres for grain. And the pasture for cattle. Not nearly enough to live on and pay the taxes. Shame too because it could be a very pretty workable farm for cattle. It was originally a dairy farm.

Idk about that. If he's getting $250 per acre on the tillable and $50 for the pasture he sure could. And I'm sure he was left some cash as well after she died...

I know the same type of sad situation.
The 200 ac. farm I did deer crop damage permits in the 1980-90's was owned by a Real Estate lady. Her good for nothing son was a drunk and still is 25 yrs. later. Anyway the farm was sold off when she died and now is a housing development. Hopefully she put everything in a trust because last I heard the drunk son was living in a apartment and trying to play drunk pool getting a monthly check from moms estate.
That farm was a one in a lifetime deer hunting dream. Seen deer every time out. Only 75 ac. of the 200 ac. was farmable and the rest was brush and trees. Just a deer haven.

At least he did a good dead snaring coyotes and helping our local deer herd prosper the past few years! lol Joe did you see that stud of a buck he killed in 2012? I say you go pay the landowner another visit.

She told me 200 and 40 once.

Just looked it up on the GIS. 152 tillable 33 pasture. 31,050 would be the farm lease. Taxes are 11,758 Leaving $19,292. The house, buildings, barns etc kills him. Subtract the 3,058 for his and her house and it's only $16,234 a year.

He didn't kill it there. But that property is killer. The landowner and I aren't exactly on speaking terms judging by our encounter yesterday. lol

What Beentown said. Sad. Delete food, medical, cell phone, utility bill assistance, and several other expenses from the paycheck of someone making $30-40k/yr and they are where he is. Just saying, with govt assistance he is probably further ahead than the guy making $12-15/hr and busting his tail the honest way. It is wrong.

No doubt about it. Way to many takers. 'Im entitled to it'. That shit really drives me nuts. I feel funny if someone gives me anything.

What started all the 'hand outs' in the USA in the first place?

Social security?

CLARK COUNTY, Ohio -A statewide search has ended for a 14-year-old Springfield girl who police say was with a 44-year-old man.

Bruce and Edwards were located in Springfield at about 9:21 p.m. Friday. Edwards was taken into custody and the Clark County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the incident.

The Clark County Sheriff's Office issued a missing alert for Michaela Marie Bruce after she was reported missing from her home on Faux Satin Drive in The Hill Apartments in Springfield at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday.

It was believed that the teen was with 44-year-old Mark Edwards, who she has a protection order against. Edwards is also known to possess weapons.

The U.S. Marshals office joined the Clark County Sheriff's Office investigation. Sheriff Gene Kelly called Edwards a pedophile.

The pair was last seen in Clark County on Tuesday when Edwards turned down a plea deal for a sex-related crime involving Bruce.

"She wrote a letter and indicated to her mother back in September that she was in love with this man," said Kelly.

Kelly said he believes that Edwards, who is married, ran off with the teen Tuesday. He said that Bruce ran off with Edwards a few months ago.

Bruce's mother, Tammy, said she prayed it wouldn't happen again.

"It's like her little brain has been drilled over and over and over that he loves her. I trusted him. His daughter was my daughter's best friend. His wife was my friend," said Tammy.

Police said their investigation led them to a Springfield motel, where they believe the pair took off in a hurry.

"There was a machete found in the motel room. There was a book bag found in the motel room," said Kelly.

The sheriff said Michaela's glasses were found in the bag, along with personal identification.

Two weeks ago Michaela posted what she called a pep talk on her Facebook page.

"It doesn't matter what guys think. Honestly, they're not worth your time if they don't think you're pretty," her post said.

Deputies with the U.S. Marshals office said they are pretty confident they'll track down Edwards.

"Whether it's against her will or not, she's 14 years old and we consider this a priority," said Pete Tobin with the U.S. Marshals Service, Southern District of Ohio.

No Amber Alert was issued for Michaela because officials believe she left with Edwards on her own free will.
