Had a good day checking snares today as i caught 2 nice males. The first one weighed 46 pds and really worked the cable over with his teeth.
The second one weighed 48 pds and caught him along the tractor path i set the other day,i new it would be a matter of time before one ran it.
I figured i would start catching more males as they are out cruising now due to breeding starting up.
Also found a few nice looking trails today that they are running so will try and set a few of those friday.
Hey Dick keep the countdown going thats 97 only 3 to go for 100 all time catches.

Well done Brian! I'd like to see you catch the one that chewed out too! Imagine what would cross his mind, " Crap, not this again." :)

Wow! Had a nice surprise today when i caught this beautiful male red fox.
We dont see many around here anymore cause of all the yotes, but just maybe he felt a little safer around here since the yotes have been getting snared, that would be a good thing.
He was a nice sized one at 18 pds.
I actually think they are one of the most beautiful animals right up there with the whitetail deer.
I believe i will add another tanned red fox to my collection.lol

He's beautiful. I would have a hard time killing one of them. I assume they hurt the turkeys pretty bad?

Mike i have caught alot of fox over the yrs and used to let some go after the yotes took over but we have pheasants on the farm and fox eat pheasants.
They are a cool looking animal and very high strung.

After the 2 fox I trapped years ago and had mounted I'd say I wouldn't go after them again if I had the opportunity. Unless of course I had a situation like you Brian. I'd rather eliminate all the coon and yotes I could and let the fox do their thing.

Do you like to turkey hunt?

I do but it's not the world to me I guess I could say. I know it sounds silly but I'd actually rather spot a nice red sneaking around doing his thing than turkeys. There used to be a couple of dens of both red and gray fox on our farm down there and since the yotes have taken over it's been a while since we've seen either and we still have quite a few turkey passing through.

Do yotes mess with turkeys much?
