Had a gorgeous long beard at 30 yards, he came in strutting and I am using a bow so I had to wait for a clear shot, he saw me move I think and just folded up and strolled off. Do you think he is gone for good or will he be back later in the week. Also, hanging up the bow breaking out the shotgun

Saw two hens so far this morning. Still no gobbling at all. Little guy is cold so we headed in. I will probably had back out in a bit for some spot and stalk attempts.

I've seen one hen, and that was when I got out of the blind to drop a deuce. No gobbling here either.

Quiet here this morning.
Lots of deer sightings.
Sitting against a tree this one was at 5 yds.

IMG_20150426_080158.jpgCalled this guy in for my buddy at 6:30 this morning. He spotted him yesterday on ground we have permission for so we went after him. I tree yelped one time and he gobbled a couple times in the tree. I made a fly down call and the next gobble was on the ground so I yelped and purred a few more times and he was coming. And he came to the top of the ridge seen the decoys and came to full strut immediately . With him fanned out facing away my buddy raised his gun and when the bird faced us it was game over.

No, I was being optimistic thinking I could draw on them, I WAY under estimated a turkeys eyesight. I'm going to get some shells right now for a redemption round

They have 270° vision and can pick off movement from a mile away, never underestimate their eyesight!

Took my boss yesterday. Got setup on Tommy after working the bird....
Boom boss man shoots....turkey flops....I start running.....turiey starts running....boom I shoot...turkey starts flopping... I run some more....turkey flys away....

This morning I went to a farm I haven't been to all year. 3 birds gobbling in different spots. I went after the one that gobbled nonstop. Got to close on the roost. He pitched down and went to the bottom. And kept gobbling and moving. I circled around him. Call gobble. He was coming in. I moved one time and he saw me before I saw him. Picked about 20 shrooms on the way out.

Girlfriend killed a nice one this am with her dad!!!

Frustrating first hunt of the year. I hunted first where I had seen a couple toms in the evenings within the last week. Got in late. Blew them off the roost. Game over. They gone. Went to another spot. Saw jack squat. I suck at this turkey hunting deal. It was a beautiful morning to sit in the woods talking to God.

Anyone else noticing that birds are not in fields where they traditionally have been year in and year out?

Up here in in NE OH, that has been my observations as well as what others I have spoken to and shot the breeze in passing have witnessed.
