Windy this am and a little warm but reprieve from rain. Saw three on the drive in so hopefully they’re up and at em.
Anyone else think there are a lot of green leaves still on the trees? Usually by now I can see further into the woods. The deer are going to be in close before I can see them.
[emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]Pouring here now. Radar says we're good around 9:30 still. Doing my best REO Speedwagon and riding the storm out.
I stood and scanned all morning Tuesday and still got snuck up on. Lots of leaves still on and wet conditions make it tough. Especially when hunting stands with multiple trails leading to the area.Anyone else think there are a lot of green leaves still on the trees? Usually by now I can see further into the woods. AgreedI will start by saying, I never wanted a cat. Get to my stand this morning and it turns out our cat followed me to the stand. Figured fuck it I'll climb the tree and she'll walk home. Nope, she climbs the tree with me. She finally climbs down and meows her head off for 10 minutes straight. All the while I have 4 mature does and 2 young ones coming in. What follows mature does this time of year? Yes, mature bucks. He's not a monster but the best I've had on cam since we moved into our new place. Cat spooks the does with her meowing and the buck followed before a shot was offered. Moral of the story, fuck cats!
