Well she's taken a turn for the worse. All the halmark signs of cancer. The bad days follow the good. Not eating even her most favorite food, cheese. Not holding down water, real lethargic, various pains on various days. Etc. Seems the right thing to do is stop the suffering.
We just had the same situation about 6 months ago. Only difference was we took him to a big vet in Columbus so they could charge us $1500 to tell us why he was dying, then proceed to tell us that for around $7500 they could probably get us another year but no guarantees. It sucks because it feels like you are letting them down but when you factor in quality of life and no guarantees it makes the decision less gut renching. We ended up putting him down.

Sorry to hear that man. I’ve put a few of my best friends down, every one of them is that much harder also. One of the worst feelings in the world. I swear every time I’m not getting another one, but they bring so much joy to our lives, unconditional love and someone you can talk to and they just listen and comfort you.

It’s really a shame that humans can be like dogs, this world would be great.

All I can say is the easiest way to help the pain and sorrow is to get another. My pup just turned one year old may 4th. I waited 2 years after I put my last one down, the pain was great and I couldn’t see in myself of having the strength to put another down when the time came...but here I am again with a great companion.

As bad as it feels you did the right thing as a dog owner. I hope this helps but I’m thinking it won’t. Damn eyes watering now as we all know the heart felt pains your going through. Remember the good times and special moments together.

Thanks bud. Sorry for your losses also. I think I'm done with house dogs for a while. Tired of the hair everywhere and the constant cleaning. I will get some working dogs in the future once I'm settled in a new house where I want to build an outdoor kennel. A good coondog and a couple rabbit dogs would be nice.
