Mornin!
2018-12-02 07.48.48.jpg

A little bit of fog, 50 degrees and the slightest wind from the South @9 mph.

Feels more like early fall than almost winter.

Anyhow,,,

everything is soak-n-wet and the darn creek is raging on, nearly overflowing it's banks.

I had to take the long way around to get to my stand because of it.

On the way here I came up on five antlerless deer on thier feet already in thier "safe space" so to speak.

We have an afternoon wind advisory of 30-40 mph gusts.

If I don't kill anything by then, I think it'll be a good time to make some more tracks and get in another 'still hunt' in with the gun.

Only two shots heard from afar at this time.

I wish to whomever is hunting today the very best of luck to you!

Round II of going deep!
20181202_115532.jpg
After the neighborhood dog encounter this morning, I went ahead and climbed down, hiked home, ate breakfast, then lightened up in clothes & gear, turned around and took off for the hills once again.

Along the way, I met up with another hunter in the area, shot the breeze for a little bit and continued onward for the big woods.

From noon until the E.O.D. I'll be stalking for my buck with my rifle at hand.

It's a beautiful day and I pray to God for a miracle this afternoon!

Good luck to all you others that are out there 'TOO'!

P.S. - The mosquitoes are out as well.

Two hours into it and I've reached the top of the hill.

I'm now taking a break.

No deer seen so far, but more deer signs discovered along the way.

One big coyote seen about 50-60 yards away to my SW.

I tried to get his attention with some mouth squeaks, but the 30-40 mph howling wind worked against me.

He kept right on marching in that NW direction and never stopped.

The other thing I want to mention is that my 'Realtree MAX-1 XT' camo pattern that I'm wearing works like a charm cause I had this squirrel run right at me from the ground, approximately 15 yards away, jumped over my left boot and onto the tree right behind me.

He never flinched the entire time, but I sure the hell did.

I thought the sumbitch was going to run right up my pant leg there for a second - little fugger!

Anyhow,,,

I'll be working my way SE now with the wind in my face for about a 1/2 mile, then turn N-NW back towards my home.

Hopefully I'll be able to walk right up onto a nice buck cause he sure the heck ain't going to hear me coming with these high winds we're having at the moment that's forsure!

Anything significant happens, you can expect that'll report it.

Later on!
