Decisions are made, fight or flight. You know what I would do. No time to weigh consequences, act quick or bury your dog. Easy choice for me. We have lease laws so the choice is easy.
Both dogs were off the leash at a “dog park” or what ever they call it.

I'm no lawyer. I've read of people shooting dogs and their consequences were being forced to pay for the "destroyed property." So you go to the south end of town and snag him another pit. Or better yet, go to the pound. Plenty of pits in the pound.

With the new Goddards Law on the books here in Ohio it makes it damn near impossible to take a deadly force stance even if the animal is a stray. Emotionally we all know what we would do. Legally all you can really do is what he did. Separate them if you can and get bit in the process and/ or loose your dog in the end. Only thing you can do is file a law suite and get damages, pain and suffering, medical & vet bills paid, and replacement cost of the dog. Dog isn't valued much as they only consider it as property.

I am not sure J. I would think that once it bites a human that would open up deadly force as an option since you would be fearful for your life. I have no clue though just my thoughts.

It's a little bit of both I think. Being young she just wants to go lol. Being in a dog shelter at her age and having that much noise makes me think she is scared to death too in that pic.

That shelter is over flowing with dogs right now. All their runs are full and they have some in crates you just have enough room. They also have a bunch at the prison for obedience training.

I feel really bad for any dog that's in there but for such young dogs to deal with all that for very long will screw them up the rest of their life. The constant barking and noise would drive anybody or any animal insane.
