reality is that all season long, the only team that could beat OSU is OSU. that was a good win for a team that has really not had to compete beyond the third quarter for the entire season. PSU defense brought it, big time, but they still could not stop the run, really. they forced three fumbles and were able to turn that into points. turnovers are always a game wrecker, but statistically the Buckeye's completely dominated the game in every way. a touchdown instead of a fumble on the one foot line changes the entire complexion of the game. ball security has not been an issue all season, and I don't imagine it will be again. PSU defense deserves their props for keeping the game close, if only in appearance. this was the perfect time for OSU to stub their toe a little.
stats don't mean much this week, but OSU is superior to Michigan on paper and in reality in all three phases of the game. not as much riding on this game as there is most of the time. Buckeye's have a little more at stake, but I'm not sure a close loss to a tremendously improved Michigan team will have much bearing on their chances to make the playoff. gonna be a fun game to watch, and I expect something very similar to what we saw yesterday. OSU defense stands tall, offense just too much for Michigan defense, even on the road. like always, this game will come down to turnovers, penalties, and who can run the ball better.
