Ah...... CHIGGERS....F... them little bastards... Poison ivy, dump some bleach on it and it's gone pretty quick. Chiggers on the other hand get in your pores and you'll suffer for months...Had no clue about this kudzu shit, now I’m very familiar with it

I’ve put down weed and feed, fire ant and now I have chigger insecticide on the way too lay down. I’ll nuke these little fugger here shortly

J... Do you have alot of them down there??? I still have bite marks on me from last Aug. when out in Illinois... Only good thing about getting bit up last year was going to Dr. and finding out I had other issues... Think if I go there this summer I'm coating my legs and stomach with vasolene so they can't get in the pores... And spray down with Permatrone...I’ve put down weed and feed, fire ant and now I have chigger insecticide on the way too lay down. I’ll nuke these little fugger here shortly

Got the area we cleaned out all ready for planting, once I get this pile burned up that’s been too windy too light on fire.
Ran the rake installed on the tractor and got it ready to pant when it’s ready. Talked too a local owner of a feed store and he recommended Millet as a good ground cover and to control the erosion. It’ll be about 30 days before the weather is warm enough too plane according too him. That’ll give me some time to burn everything up. Hopefully the weather will be conducive to get that done.
At least o have a game plan for now. Driveway is patched up and fairly smooth and going too add some more ground asphalt too it here shortly. The stuff that I’ve laid down and packed so far is holdout well. And any areas that show some weaknesses I’ll tune up with some diesel fuel like was mentioned early.
Couple friends are coming down Thursday from Ohio and my son is coming up and we’ll hit Lake Norman this weekend. One of the kids does excavation work with his dad and he’s going too survey the drive and later on down the road will be back down for a few days too offer up his expertise on some heavy equipment. We’ll rent what’s needed for a few days and get it straightened out too his standards. Always good too have friends who are in the business and have some spare time too help out. Other than the rental of the equipment and fill it’ll be a couple fishing trips for his troubles. Win, win in my book

Haven’t had any areas that needed it yet. That stuff packs hard and stays put in the areas i used it so far. The one are I used it was at the mail boxes. There’s 4 mailboxes for the houses in the area that all get delivered too one spot. There was a big hole of an area from where people would just pull up in their vehicles and check the box. It was about a foot deep and about 2’ wide and 4’ long. Filled it in, graded it out and drove over it a dozen times with the tractor packing it in. Still as level as it was when I was done and it’s been in there a month. A few low spots on the drive have been the same way.
When we moved into the new place the wife decided right then that the green counter tops had too go. The really didn’t match the backsplash and we’ll we’re both not fans of green in the kitchen.
Fast fwd we had gotten a few estimates and we got sticker shock on the first one that came in and the second was a little better but both took weeks to get back and weeks more to come for the measurements.
Then we came across a general contractor who got back quickly and went out of his way too show up and get the measurements and stopped back by to touch base and hand me the estimate. Which happened too be way cheaper then contractor #1.
We gave him the go ahead too order and install. He didn’t ask for a down payment and called me when they were done, that was Tuesday and he said he could have his guys there this week too install them and the new stove top.
Fast fwd too today. They showed up @9 and left here @2. Cleaned up, took away all the old material (minus parts of the old counter that’ll be used for work benches) and left behind caulking that if needed I could have.
Guys were courteous and had a good sense of humor. Wife is extremely happy, so that makes me happy
The island counter top was extended out 18” too allow some seating as a breakfast area.
