Another limit today...freezer is getting stocked up. Tomorrow will probably give the trout a break and go for white perch.
Are those things any good? I always throw them back on Lake Erie.View attachment 125449
Not as many as last week but had some fun and put another bag of perch fillets in the freezer. Supposed to rain Heavy tomorrow but still may sneak out and hit the trout lakes again.
For me, they are second only to walleye. Breaded and deep fried, mashed potatoes and some peas...meal fit for a king! Are those things any good? I always throw them back on Lake Erie.
Have you had yellow perch? Crappie? Hmmm, I may have to try them. They are a pain in the ass when casting. For me, they are second only to walleye. Breaded and deep fried, mashed potatoes and some peas...meal fit for a king!
Yellow perch has a gamey taste compared to white perch. The white perch I catch are from salt water and travel up brackish water streams to breed. Their taste may differ from perch that live their entire lives in fresh water...like a Alaska salmon compared to a landlocked salmon.Have you had yellow perch? Crappie? Hmmm, I may have to try them. Giles, you aren't supposed to eat bass it's sacrilege

After Kayla's soccer game, I stopped and bought minnows for the girls to try and catch dinner. They succeeded!View attachment 125632View attachment 125633View attachment 125634View attachment 125635View attachment 125636View attachment 125637View attachment 125638
