Caught a descent size female today, nice to catch a few females.
Going to keep these set on the farm for another week or two then go set on the 300 acre farm which seems to have alot of yotes on it, i would like to try and catch 20 or 30 off of it but time will tell.
Will probably try and set 30 or 40 snares when i get there and hopefully knock the population down a little.
Just got another 5 dozen snares and other supplies delivered yesterday so will get them dyed soon and be ready to get after them.

Caught a beautiful female red fox today, with season over i used the release pole and let her go.
She just jumped across the creek and stopped and looked at me,funny thing when i pulled up their was another red jumped up 5 yds from her and ran off i figured it was most likely a male.
When i got back to the barn i took a pic of her way out in the cornfield and could see the other one about 100 yds along the creek to her right.
I am starting to see more red fox now so must be hurting the yote population pretty good here.
I am planning on pulling out of the farm wednesday and take a few days off till i go set the other farm on monday which is only about 5 miles from our farm.

Yea they are pretty feisty, hard to get the noose around them when they have a big circle to run around.lol
Glad to see them out there though its been awhile since we have seen any fox on the farm.
I have seen several this year.

I watched one yesterday on the way home from work. It was just out in the middle of an open field, mousing I presumed. We see probably 10x more fox than coyote around here the last 3-4 years.

Out of all the coyotes you catch with a snare…what percent are dead when you find them and how many are snared alive?
