Well took a little down time and am ready to get back after the yotes so my plan time permitting is to set the 300 acre farm tomorrow and Thursday before the cold weather gets here as it is supposed to be in the 40s here tomorrow. Hope to catch a few off of that farm.

Well sure was nice to get back out today.I had a couple snares out for beavers and the clumsy fat fuggers kept knocking them over.
I have caught them in traps before but was my first time snaring them so Zach told me to lower them where the bottom of snare almost touches the ground and put some lure out and went today and looookee there had a 46 pd beaver.
The cool thing is this is the first one ever caught on our farm as they have decided they like the area with all the crops around to eat and the nice creek that runs through it.
He was really pissed off also as he charged me a couple times.lol
Put a couple more sets out there then headed to the other farm but only got 15 yote sets in, will try and get more set the next 3 or 4 days.
Well here we go again hope to take some yotes off this farm.
Also i am going to get this beaver tanned being its the first off of the farm.
Will check back in when i have something good to report.

Just one boar coon today. He was a happy fellar when i cut him loose.
Have some bitter cold temps coming in but am still going to try and get some more sets in tomorrow afternoon and then set more next week if its not too bad out.
Been having some lower back issues lately and has been a pain in the ass and sure feel it after putting in sets.
I must really enjoy doing this or would say fugg it the way i have felt these last couple of days.lol

Made it out today and had my best friend Kevin along to help me get some more sets in. It was nice out early but then turned into a whiteout but was fun to be out in it. We did get 20 sets in so have 45 sets out now and have almost half the 300 acre farm covered. Saw several yote tracks and some fox tracks so hope to have some yotes come through the area the next few days. I figure they may lay up a little till this weather gets through tonight. I honestly think I could set 150 sets on this farm but will try and get another 20 or 30 out next week and that should be plenty to run the next month. Now all we need is some catches Lol after taking a week off I am ready to see some yotes with neckties on.
As far as how many are dead or alive it really depends where I set them but so far seems about 55% alive 45%dead. All the yotes caught out in the open have all been alive but the ones in thicker areas usually get wrapped up and choked out. Doesn't matter to me though cause they are all gonna end up dead.LOL

I caught one female today and had one yote chew out of a snare, the wind sucked last night also and blew several snares shut or could have caught 5 more as their were fresh tracks going down the trails where the snares were. Saw lots of tracks out in the fields so reset the ones blown shut and hopefully will get more, I need to try and get more sets out on the rest of the property. The first pic of the property is what I have set now and the other two pics are the areas I need to get some sets on as I checked it out this morning and lots of yote tracks there also. It is a big farm and I don't even have half of it set yet and seems like their are lots of yotes there to catch. It sure was nice and cool out this morning at 7:30.LOL phpeHgqyDAM.jpgphpDwjDqLAM.jpgphpHHXbhrAM.jpgphpTKygOzAM.jpgphp6TC3sKAM.jpgphp8iaUlAAM.jpgphpLjlsxDAM.jpg

Heck boarhead.. Nice to see you back at it. Can't believe one could chew out like that but man they can't kill deer with dull teeth

Made it out today in this 8 degree temp and got 15 more sets in and found where the yotes have been tearing up this deer carcass. The area was covered in yote tracks so hopefully will catch a few in this area. Also saw a ton of deer tracks today and several deer.
