Good luck in the morning fellas. Putting the last of my stuff in the dryer now. Gonna be a short night's sleep for this guy...
Nothing on my end. Went to our sportsman club in search of a doe for Kody. Saw more hunters than deer. 3 hunters walked through, no deer.
I'm still in bed. LOL!!! Not much motivation left in this old boy and after the night I had, I was moving pretty slow this morning. I grabbed the remotes when I did wake up and well, I ain't moved since! Doubt I hunt at all this weekend since I'm not real excited about shooting another deer with a gun. Time to just enjoy being lazy with the wife...

Took my son out for 1/2 day hunt. Didn't see a thing. I think I heard a shot, but can't be certain. If it was, it was a long way off.
Am I a bad dad? I took Klay, my 10 year old, out this evening to the private property we hunt on. We have an unwritten rule for the boys, 6 point or better. We've been getting this 3 point on camera alot. He has real tall tines, but... well, he's a 3 pointer. Anyway, he came in today ahead of a doe. Klay begged me to shoot him, but I wouldn't let him. It was a cake shot, 20 yards broad side. Now he's all pissed off at me. Says he's done hunting.
The buck just wasn't worth it in my eyes. I offered up the doe, but he just wants a buck. So I made him wait. I tried to explain that shooting a buck that small on a property that we rely on isn't worth it.
I'm not sure if he will go again... he's pretty pissed. Did I fugg up?

That looks just like the first buck I ever shot Cotty lol.
3pt on one side and a blade on the other. Your buck is a little more on tine length then mine was.
Kids are funny Cotty. He might be mad now but he will get back out there. If not tomorrow maybe for muzzy season. They don't stay mad forever.

JK man, i think you did the right thing, he'll understand one day and probly be thankful he waited, but now ya GOTTA get him on a 6 pt or better. Good luck to you guys, i'm pullin for ya.
