Groundhogs

Ya buy a 22-250 and shoot 'em with the .22.

Well, I guess that's new too.

You mean the .223 ?

That gun is strictly for yote

However if I have it in hand and a groundhog is out a couple hundred yards I won't pass up a shot LOL

I think I have only been out a couple of time LOOKING for hogs. Seems when I go check cams and set new cams out I always carry the 22 and find them lol. I have learned over the years to never go after what your hunting...just do something completely different and let them come to you lol.

How many times have we all went deer hunting and seen nothing but squirrels or when squirrel hunting and seen deer lol.

During Ghog season I just hang cams and see them all the time...I hunt them and never see them lmao.

I take the .22 with me to check cams in the event I see a groundhog, and all i ever shoot is ditch tigers.

I always called them leopards

For some reason we don't see many of them around unless it's deer season. They head back and chase the damn tree rats and fug up my deer hunting lol

Well, I finally got one behind the house. I have been chasing this one and one about twice this size for a year now. They have never let me get a good shot. I missed the big one twice last year.

So last week I see this one out in the yard sunning himself and I think Perfect!, its facing away from me, I can sneak around the neighbors house and use their little shed to my advantage. The shot I have to take to get to them is through a chainlink fence and between the rungs of a ladder that is laying against it. So get over to it and draw, then BAM I hit the one rung of the ladder and he runs away....

So two days later it gives me a shot again, its sunning himself in the yard and I have the same shot to take again... So I sneak up there unnoticed, draw, right through the fence, the ladder and right into its neck! Perfect, he tries to run but only gets like 5 yds away and expires....

My neighbor must have thought there was something wrong with me hahahahahaha I was hootin and a hollerin, calling my wife hahahahahah

So here he is:

hahahaah Thats awesome. Reminds me of the old Nike commercials with Jordan. Off the bleacher, over the jumbo tron, 1 bounce, nothing but net.

Another one of the small ones is out in the beans. But mom is still chirping by the hole I hope the little one lures her out.

Yeah. .223. Hornady Vmax I couldn't find my 10rd mag. lol.

Saw one in the grass lane to my front at about 325. Through 14 power scope and the waves in the heat it didn't look the right color. Close, but not quite right.. Ahhh its just the heat.. I kept looking waiting for it to stand up.. I slid over to the 60x spotting scope.

A fawn!

Man. That would have sucked!

I mumbled to myself as I slid back over behind the rifle. "first rule of gun safety."

SWEET shootin Joe. That AR will reach out and touch them lol. Love those Chrome bull barrels. What grain .223 V-max you shooting ? I need to get some 68gr loads made up for mine.

I got my .223 bore sighted so now just to hit the range to fine tune it. I had a buddy of mine order rings for my .22 and they shipped the wrong ones ( the reason I placed the BPS order ) but it's bore sighted and needs final adjustments but will be out tomorrow hitting a few hogs :D.

55 gr vmax. My scope is a little off. I had her set 2 inch high at 200. Somehow she is running about 3 inches right at 200. I knew this from shooting the steel last time with Alex. I just did some Kentucky windage and busted that hog.

The barrel is a 20 inch Match grade Wilson Arms, Heavy, air gauged, cryogenically treated, 416 Stainless Steel, 1/8 twist. She's 1.05 inch under the handguard and .750 diameter at the block. Wylde chamber and target crown. ;). The trigger is a RRA two stage National Match.

She'll do her part if I do mine.
