Gotz me sum new boots at the Wal-Mart last weekend lol. I didn't have any hiking style boots for the past couple years and with all the rain and mud my walking shoes just wasn't cutting it anymore lol. Picked up a cheap water proof hiking boot like I use to use for the lumber yard.

I talked to the landowner just 15 min. ago and I told her I wasn't going to stop out and check it this evening. Told her that I wanted to stay out of there and let things calm down and just start checking it in the mornings now that we have thinned it out a bit. I told her if I didn't have anything in the trap by morning I would bring the cams back out and see what's what and go from there.

No lol. They insist on making it right and now want to pay me for all the hard work and gas to keep coming back out there every day over the last week. I told them not to worry about it. I wanted to do this and help them out but, you know older farmers....you just can't argue with them.

Not gonna lie, I had a pair of Bramahs a few years ago and loved them. They just didn't hold up on new metal roofs.

I buy them just because they are cheap and waterproof lmao. I don't wear them all the time. I just wear them when I'm going to be playing in the mud and water lol. Saves my shoes and I can still wear the shoes around the house instead of being all muddy and parked by the back door all the time.

I hate spending money on boots and shoes. I had a pair of Nike hiking boots and paid $120 for them and they fell apart in 3 months. The cheap wal-mart brahmas I have gotten away with wearing them for about 8 months working in the lumber yard and driving the delivery truck to jobsites.

I figured I better put some miles and break in the boots for when Joe brings the dogs up. I have a feeling we are going to be chasing dogs all over the place lmao.

I don't walk nowhere to that dog..... Ask Alex (Tripple88) We set off through the woods one night to get Ben who was treed about 350 yards in a woodlott.. I walked 100 yards and told them i was going back to the truck to drive around the other side of the woods. I told them they were welcome to walk the 250 more yards to the dog but i would meet them around there.. George and i drove around the woodlot and Ben was treed 80 yards from the fence.. Alex had only been there a minute or so.. George and i rode in style.. lol... I will drive as close to the dog as i can.
 
You shouldn't have to worry up at this property. We will start hitting coon right in the backyard where the frog pond is lol. Ask Dante and Huck about how many frogs are in that pond lol. I walked to the waters edge one day and it was like wave of hopping bullfrogs all jumping back into the pond lmao. After the pond will be a treeline with a tractor path we can take the truck back to the woods and make a stop along the way when the dog trees one. We should be able to get close with the truck and the woods are easy walking with the old growth trees and field drainages that wind down the woods. We can drive all the way around to the other side of the woods where there is a nice swamp pond and a ton of coon. might not have time to drive who knows lmao. Should make for a fun night anyway :D.
 
I wasn't going to go check the trap tonight but curiosity got the better of me lol. Got out there at 10pm and found yet another one in the trap in the doorway. It was a pretty good size male about 15lbs.

That makes 8 now. Trap is cleaned and reset and bait is good to go. Check it again in the morning and see if I can get closer to UglyKats 15 out of one barn lol.
 
Checked this morning and no new bodies lol.

The landowners met me when I came back out of the barn and we stand there talking for a few minutes. The husband reached into his wallet and said here take this for your troubles and for your work. PAID me even after I told him many times he didn't have to. Going to head out after while and hang some cams again and see whats left in there lol. I'll keep you all updated lol.
 
Sooner or later you were going to get "Skunked" Adam. I think you took the whole family out but I would bet another family will move in soon, lol.

Just started reading this this morning. Was going to offer to let you use 3 dog proof traps I have. But I don't think you need them now. You can use them if you want just return them when your done. PM me your address.

I catch a skunk and guess who I'm calling lol. I will blame it all on you for jinxing me lol.
