Just started reading this this morning. Was going to offer to let you use 3 dog proof traps I have. But I don't think you need them now. You can use them if you want just return them when your done. PM me your address.

I'm not sure if I will need them or not but I will send you a PM anyway. I figure with the colder weather that is moving in next week it may bring some outsiders looking for a place to stay warm. I have the cams out now to try and figure out how many we might still have running around out there. Thanks for the help Buckrun :smiley_clap:

Traps have been clear as well as the cams all weekend. I think I finally took out the entire family of coons in there. Keeping an eye on it for a bit longer but I think we are done in the ol barn lol.

I catch a skunk and guess who I'm calling lol. I will blame it all on you for jinxing me lol.

Adam if you catch a skunk put a tarp or blanket over the trap tie a rope to the trap go down to the frog pond carrying the trap and toss it in.... give it five minutes and retrieve it..... no spray and no smell....

If I catch one I will just call you or Jeff to come and take it out for me lol.

I hope to never have one in there but I will tarp it before I mess around that trap :D.

i have a buddy i grew up with is is 6'4 , i was catching coon in live traps for my roll cage , went to check on of my traps and guess whats in there, i told my buddy , i aint touching it the damn thing can die in there, well him and his 6'4 frame sneak up to this skunk in the live trap , and he slowly starts prying up the door , well he forgets to get a stick to prop the door , cause the skunk was standing on the pan , the skunk wants out the open door , my buddy wants away from the door , the skunk starts inching towards my buddy , i tell him to sit stone still and he wont bother him , the skunks slowly walks out the trap and right between my buddys legs and then takes off like a bat out of hell , i have never seen some one so big shake so much , i thaught he was gonna cry ,only wish i had a camera

Have fun with them!

While I was out setting up the mineral site at 1 O'clock and I took one with me and got it setup. I didn't have any cable anchors however, I did have a few swing set anchors. I hammered the eye closed so the DP couldn't be taken off if the coon decided to flip out and start jumping all over the place. I took some small marsh mellows and put in under the trigger and toped it off with a couple sardines. I also took a few marsh mellows and sardines and laid on the ground around the trap and dripped the juice out of the sardine can around the area. I took the DP trap and zip tied it to an 8" stick that I hammered into the ground just to keep the DP upright and so they couldn't just flop the trap around and dump the contents out of it :smiley_clap:. After I see how this works out I will take some pictures of the " How To " and get them posted up. I suspect I will have one in there in the morning :D. I happened to find a coon trail that lead from the field up to the barn today so we will see if there is still any lurking outside trying to figure out how to get in.

Here is a picture of the anchors I used. I don't think they will pull these suckers out of the ground lol.

Dante and myself went out to this property around 5 this evening and was looking for some groundhogs to blast and we wound up popping 2 more coon instead. We found them hiding in a big Den tree and wasn't able to get any pics since the fell down inside the tree :(. That makes 10 now for the property and I will bet I get at least one more in the morning in that DP trap right outside the barn. Coon tracks all over the place out there back by the woods. Guess I will have something to do during trapping season back there :D.
