And they're back, cruising the field edges.and/or nesting/sunbathing, and now grazing through the field.

I was a clumsy kid. Kinda grew into it. Except with hunting. This morning could only be described as clumsy. Tough walk in, so I was sweating despite carrying more than half my clothes in and 2 does crested the ridge when I was 25 yards from the tree. It took 20 minutes for them to finally spook because I was now freezing and my right arm was asleep from my pack hanging of it. The whole time that was happening, a deer across the holler was snorting and stomping. Then as soon as I climbed up, a nice 2 year old strolled through while another deer blew down in the bottom. The spot is great, it's me that sucks. Fresh scrape at 22 right below the rising sun. Still had wet piss in it at 4PM yesterday.

I feel ya dude. I saw 12 last night. 11 of them knew I was there either by spooking them going in or changing wind direction. Always makes sick to my stomach to educate the deer.

Been in about half an hour. Easily undetected. Even using the climber and taking extra time I was undetected. Not hard to accomplish given the lack of deer. 😂😂

Not a complaint. It is what it is. I'm thankful to be where I am on this beautiful Friday afternoon with a weird ESE wind. Tarsals hanging. Hoping odd wind has deer move this way. Already saw one hunter brought in on a quad and dropped off NW of me. My scent "might" affect him but his scent shouldn't concern my sightings. Squirrels very active. Nov 5. ANYTHING can happen this time of the year! Good luck all!

Got my ambush for tomorrow hung and really like the spot, but the wind is still very northerly and inconsistent, so I slipped back down to the bottom since there was a good bit of sign all along the bottom. I'll sit all day tomorrow on the ridge and let the thermals do their thing. I'll definitely hear deer I won't see sitting here, but anything that strolls through here is well within range (if I don't blow it again).
