Lacing up my boots now, going to look for that particular one... but I reserve the right to shoot whatever strikes my fancy. :)

That's enough of that. Snuck around a thicket that should have held a lot of deer...nothing. I'm done with that place for a while. I don't know where those big suckers went, but I know where they aren't.

Dang! I want to drive around with you Brian!:) Last night I had an opportunity to go for a drive at prime time in prime area. I saw 6 in one group, and then a real nice buck crossed the road after sundown at the end of my drive. I felt lucky to see that many!

I never saw anything else while I was back out. I'm just glad my gun season is over. I can now go in to late season mode & take my time. No expectations, just relaxation while waiting for the right... I mean any , opportunity lol.

Between the 5 of us we managed to put 2 in the truck.
we started at a spot owned by a little old fella. After all the introductions and making sure we were all ok to Hunt his property he mentioned that if one of us should get a doe, he wouldn't mind getting some bologna. About an hour in I had three does come across a cut bean field and I said to myself "guys nice enough to let me, a total stranger, hunt his propery, the least I can do is hook him up". I popped her on a dead run at 80 yards. She made it to the woods, but wasn't hard to find. The old timer was tickled pink when I told him she was all his. The guys I was hunting with are taking her to the processor.

They asked me to come back in the morning once they found out I could shoot. Lol. I'll see what the weat her does tomorrow, but I'm into it, we had deer running all day.

Yeah, it was fun. Almost got myself into a little trouble though. We were hunting in the area of killdeer plains. We noticed a dead deer laying in the woods next to the road. It turned out to be a real nice buck. I was just about to step of the road to check it out when I was informed that was a state refuge. If anybody was to see me go in there off to jail I go. That buck was laying there 10 yards of the road and all we could do was stand there and look at it.

Well done Dave! That sounds like a lot of fun, and it never hurts to meet a new landowner every now and then. Well done passing along the good fortune!

Slow start to the morning. Have not heard a single shot yet. Seen two deer, both out of range, and a huge yote just crossed the field at around 300 yards. Hope the action picks up.

Asked the LO how many people were gonna be gun hunting and he said "a bunch". I'm gonna stick with the bow and hide in my stand over my small food plot in very thick woods between bedding and the corn field. He said he saw four BIG bucks on that side of the property yesterday standing staring at two does for about thirty minutes
