Great buck! Congrats! Thanks for sharing your hunting story! It goes to show that this late in the season especially with the amount of snow on the ground that FOOD is what on most deers mind! Way TOO get it done!
The first shot was a miss. The second did hit further back than I would have liked. The deer was quartering away and down hill. The slug caught a little of the hind quarter and burried somewhere in the opoosite side. There was no exit wound. The high entrance and no exit left little to no blood or any other fluid trail.Great buck, congratulations, way to follow up!
Where did you hit him with your first two shots, once, twice? Since he bedded up that close, and very little blood, I'm guessing gut area?
