Finished my fishing summer at the pond tonight. Buddy caught 8 largemouth, I caught 6. Pretty nice night.

We picked up some minnows at Cabela's and I did find myself fondling a new casting reel. I went with the Meijer special spincaster this year but maybe next spring will think about a serious rod and reel.

Haven't had much desire to hit the treestand yet this year, but have been hitting Indian Lake for some Fall Crappie and Saugeye action. Here are some pics from our last few trips:











All the crappie are at or above the 9 inch minimum for the lake and the 15inch for Saugeye. We've had a blast the last few trips out and have put quite a bit of fish in the freezer this year so far.

Flew down to the lake to fish the last hour before dark off the bank. Ended up with 10 nice crappie tonight.

Nice crappies Drake, that looks like some good eatin'! Way to be Brandon, I hope to one day make it out west to do some trout fishing!

102 crappie between 4 guys yesterday evening. Dad and I limited out with 60 and buddies of ours caught 42. It was a blast on the lake lastnight!

I'm still planning on getting in on the sauger bite a little later in the year. I've never fished it, so I'm looking forward to trying it.
