Mason has an awesome girlfriend. Great kid, good student, all district softball player as a sophomore... she’s just awesome. If they part ways, we are keeping her and sending him away. It so happens she’s a farm girl too and they have three ponds on their farm. We tried one of them out for the first time tonight. The first fish I caught was a 21” largemouth! We managed about a half dozen each but the first was the biggest.
Here is a pic of Mason with the biggest of the bunch.

Slow bite this morning. Marked a ton of fish on the graph but they were locked down im assuming from the moon. Managed a really nice hybrid on a downline along with a couple of small stripers. Pulled some santee rigs for cats and put a couple in the box. Thought i had a 20+ pound striper right of the rip this morning that turned out to be about a 4 ft football shaped gar. Put a good stretch on my 30lb braid. Still got my blood pumping. Good mess for supper anyways.

Good day on the lake yesterday. 8 stripers, 1 hybrid, 1 channel cat, 1 gar. They were loving the smaller blueback herring in the 3.75 to 4 inch range. Lost a striper that was atleast 30 pounds. Several minutes into the fight i had a second striper get on and wrap up the line of the big fish i was fighting and it broke me off. Total heart break but still brought a good mess of fish home.
