I'll have to keep this little pond a secret, but...damn!

Fished 1 of 2 farm ponds today and slayed 'em. I caught around 10 smallies or largemouth's in about 2 hours. Had a few that got off as well. Those I was with added another ten or so between big blue gills and bass. Very healthy pond with some big ole bullfrogs, carp, and catfish as well. Didn't even venture to the lower pond about 150 yards away.

Just one of those fun ponds to fish while you drink beer. I was catching on live minnows, dead minnows, 2 different plastic minnows, and a white grub with a tail...

BTW - I got a baker's dozen of live minnows at Cabela's this morning for $2.49 - first cheap thing I've seen at that store. They stayed healthy most of the day too.

The top water bite has been awesome the last few evenings. Mason and I went to Rocky Fork Sunday evening and caught about a dozen in the last hour of daylight. Nothing big, maybe 2lbs or so. We ran over to the neighbor's pond last night, and caught 19 largemouth in the last hour and a half. Got two this evening before the storms ran us off.

I've been throwing a Spook Puppy, and Mason has found a fondness for a mini-Hula popper. Great time of year!

Hoping to get into some top-water smallies next week in MI!

Fished Hargus tonight with a buddy. 3 hours netted us 1 small catfish...I'd call that a shitty night! We knew we didn't have a great chance with the hot weather but at least hit it with lighter pressure. Our other options are still mudded out.

Breakfast at Bob Evan's at 630 and then hit Alum Creek before the rain came through. Did well on bluegill but that was it. Had a good time and we managed to pick the first sprinkle to drive around a bit and then finished it off right before it started to pour.

First time up there, nice lake...

I've decided after seeing more this morning that if I ever get into this fishing thing for real, I'd be content with a little aluminum jon boat and a trolling motor...

I grew up a mile from Hargus. My wife shot her first and only deer right behind the dam there...145", 10pt. That used to be a great little lake, at least for the first ten years after it was drained and refilled. It was crystal clear. Went there last summer and it looked like a mud hole.

Yea I would say that there is less than a foot of visibility. Neat lake but it was bathtub warm last week and didn't produce anything.

I was killing time at the Mingo Marina while Klay had football practice. Caught a few smallies. My dad caught a real good one but denied my camera proposal.
Here's the first catch of the day.

Tell Katie congrats on the catfish!!!!!!

Fished a tournement out of Chester WV on the Ohio river Cumberland pool.... 13 boats and we took second place with 10.10 lbs.... Our big fish was 3.1 lbs and winners had 10.90 lbs with a 3.90 lb big bass for them.... Great night and we caught 25+ keepers and culled at least 3 limits of fish lol.... We've had a great run on the river so far and hopefully it continues lol.....
